Expand company size here in the NAFTA area.

I worked at Meiko America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Your fellow employees are the only pro in this otherwise toxic work place.

    Cons

Low compensation for college graduates, horrible dishonest and toxic upper management, toxic work environment, competition within different branches of the SAME company.

    Advice to Management

The entire management structure needs to be changed and new people need to be brought in.

I worked at Meiko America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A good place to start an entry level position as an import or export clerk since the work is done from a-z.

    Cons

Promoting is very difficult unless a manager leaves. The branch managers are from Japan so could be a language and a culture shock. Usually the branch managers do not have management skills and have a very hard time to convey their thoughts. They are not too interested in their staffs personal growth.

    Pros

Good People...Its a shame! People are very talented yet they never get rewarded or even thanked for their work. Good to hang out and drink but not to work with....Drama!

    Cons

Unorganized, Place which isolates itself from the Normal Organizations/Companies in the way the do business...

    Advice to Management

Try working as a team for once and begin sharing the Fiscal $$$$ (for yearly reaises) which is sent by corporate, instead of cutting everyones pay just so "YOU" could give yourselfe a raises and blow smoke on everyone else.

    Pros

There was a good work load to keep you busy, and the was a variety of jobs that you could work on, which keeps the work interesting. If you like hands on type of job in logistics, Meiko is the place, as office staff routinely would help in the warehouse for various projects.

    Cons

There was a lack of constructive or positve direction from management, and there was an apparent disconnect between management personal from different departments. Also, seemed to be that people in mamangement would kind of bully their way around, making it difficult to develop your own way of doing a job. Also, people in general didn't seem to feel energized working their, which leads me to think mamangement should try to do better job of creating an enjoyable enviroment to work in.

    Advice to Management

I think a good company starts form the ground up, so build up your staff both skill wise but also empower them to make them feel they are contributing in a positve way. Once you do this, people will be more eager to work and do a good job.
