    Pros

    Very international team, lots of opportunity to interact with people in different countries and cultures.

    Good opportunities to work on technical projects - good place to learn technical skills.

    Cons

    Very top down decision making style. Influence depends on personal relationship to top management (very political) and merit is not recognized or rewarded. Management decisions are also generally not transparent (although they are advertised to be.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I have been working at Melexis full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    International company likes to hire college grads willing to work cheap and lots of hours. Great place to start, or get citizenship to your host country. Products and technologies are decent. With luck, a few may actually do well in the next several years.

    Cons

    The ownership is very cliquey, and this is reflected throughout the management hierarchy, ridiculous project schedules, unspoken expectations for long hours, only way to move up is to suck up. Merit pay is based on things beyond the average person's control, and reviews are only good if you're helping your manager look better than they are (most are pretty bad at their jobs, here). Everyone I've met, seems tired of bad management. HR is horrible, and in some cases, given full site management authority (even over Engineering!). . A few saving products, could make this a more profitable company over the next few years, but after that, kaput!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reign-in your middle management. They're making us crazy.

    Pros

    Majority of the employees are very good professionals who are ready to support you. Good opportunity to learn. Good place to start your professional career.

    Cons

    - Stressful environmental, which is caused by poor management decisions.
    - It is a common thing that the HR department do not know employees names.
    - Unrealistic targets set by the management
    - Very limited career opportunities
    - Poor resource planning
    - Remuneration package for one and the same position at different company locations varies more than 6 times
    - Personal achievement are not recognized by the management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at Melexis

    Pros

    Incredible customer portfolio, exposure to the biggest automotive subcontractors worldwide. Very qualified colleagues and great teams. Perfect and challenging environment disposing everyone to learn quickly and develop their personal potential.

    Cons

    Very flat structure; no possibilities for personal development. Bad senior management - centralized in Belgium. Very little flexibility from the management side.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Give people more room for personal development;
    - Try to encourage results by praising people for them;
    - Stop firing managers from today to tomorrow; there are really good leaders who should be acknowledged for their hard work and results;
    - Be more predictable and consistent in your attitude towards your employees;
    - Try to pose measurable goals - this is the key to success;
    - Ask your employees more often for their feedback, and do listen to it;
    - Try to make it clear what are one's development possibilities in the company, tie these with the results achieved and not with who your friends are.
