I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida

    Pros

My employees , the benefits aren't so bad, could be better, experience from high influx of critical patients (but understaffed always)

    Cons

Low pay, low pay, low pay! Overworked and underpaid, work demand sky high, on call mandatory. For a trauma level one hospital you would think they would pay nurses more for the amount of work load that is given. New grads are being paid more at other hospitals for just starting out. Embarrassing. Parking is a joke. (In the OR) No control what's so ever over your schedule, they write your schedule and you have to accept it, and they post it on the last day of the previous schedule so that allows you little to know time to schedule appointments outside of work, and if you manage to schedule far in advance a vacation you will get denied it you aren't one of their favorites. And If you aren't one of their favs your schedule is constantly changing month to month so you never know what days you have off! It makes it very difficult to sign up for call when you have no idea when your working. You give them a hand and they take an arm and a leg, and then your other arm and leg and expect you to jump rope and juggle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen, respect all of your employees, stop favoritism.

    Pros

The hospital provides a climate that is conducive to compassionate care of patients.

    Cons

The environment to provide top notch, compassionate care is dependent upon hospital/ pharmacy leadership ...... so is always dependent upon such, but the company does value the concerns of families and loved ones in their pursuit of excellence in health care and for that ..... I can highly commend them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire and retain knowledgeable, experienced compassionate people who have the heart to take care of the sick and needy.

I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

MHS has a great administrative team and provides excellent training for their leaders and managers. They are pro 'education' and believe in doing the right thing. Their compensation is within the standard for the region. They strive to 'stay ahead of the curve' for new technology and particularly, trends in healthcare. They want to be a 'one stop shop' for the consumer. Excellent CVIS, Neuro and Cancer programs.

    Cons

With 6 hospitals, there is some 'siloing' that still occurs. To date, still segmented areas of care but that will change in the near future.
