I have been working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are very smart and dedicated people. The research is always striving to be the best. The benefits are great.

    Cons

As with many academic institutions, there are some egos involved. The cafeteria options could also be a little more expansive

I have been working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent Hospital system as I've been told. Many oportunities

    Cons

Supervisors are unprofessional, breeding an unprofessional atmosphere. No direct path for career advancement. A lot of required OT. Menial tasks

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire and invest from Within. As a manager do not take things personally. Train and promote employees.

I worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The hospital environment is top notch. As a POA you felt like you were making a difference and often times the patients feel the same. You feel a great deal of satisfaction in this position. Also, the benefits are great.

    Cons

There was not much room for professional growth.

I have been working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering full-time for more than a year

    Pros

For a tech it's a pretty low-stress position and you learn a lot in the first year or two. Lot's of brilliant people. Health benefits are great.

    Cons

Pay is average for a technician, which is low by most industry standards. Pretty bureaucratic so if you want to do anything you find yourself running around from person to person or filling out far too much paperwork.

I have been working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The ability to learn different aspects of healthcare is endless. The management team provides staff the ability to expose themselves and network throughout the company. Education is key within Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

    Cons

There really aren't any cons that come to mind. The only way someone would have a con for MSKCC is if they do not apply themselves. The possibilities are endless as long as on applies themselves.

I have been working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering full-time for more than a year

    Pros

great colleagues, incredible institutional reputation and strong support for existing management team (which totally depends on your department, however).

    Cons

Large organization that makes adaptability to change slow and strenuous, some departments require a lot of work and often those in management positions could use more training on being a good manager (even if they have leadership potential).

I worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The center itself is one if not the best place to be employed.

    Cons

Management is very poor in addressing the needs of NEWLY employed employees.
