Current Employee – been working at Menard full-time for less than a year
Pros – I started as a Manager Trainee and got a job as an Asst Front End Manager before even completing the program. Ok pay, good benefits, rewarded for long term employment, opportunities for advancement.
Cons – Really long weekend hours, disappointing pay considering that I have a 4 year degree and months worth of training with Menards, relocation often necessary for advancement, many managers are not well trained (hard to work with).
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your employees. We experience problems and interact with guests every day and lot of us could give helpful suggestions for improvements.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Menard full-time for more than a year
Pros – The bonuses are nice, Most of the people are friendly and helpful.
Cons – Can be strenuous with long hours and little pay if you work in the warehouse. Bad benefits. Most warehouses start out at like 15$ range. They pay 11.55$ and that's if your lucky. A very high turnover ratio.
Advice to Senior Management – find a way to pay your employees better, have custom pay for hourly jobs. Don't generalize the pay because some buildings work way harder than others.

Former Employee – worked at Menard part-time for more than a year
Pros – Great Company managers are very cool and easy to talk to. I loved working there employees were very friendly. Low stress job.
Cons – Only 4-5 hour shift from 5am -10am. Pay was very little. No real room for growth, wouldnt count on building a career with this company. Very hard to do, great job if you are a student looking for a cool job. Management usually get stuck working 60-80 hours a week.
Advice to Senior Management – Great management. Very relaxed

Current Employee – been working at Menard part-time for more than a year
Pros – Menards has very good benefits even for part time employees, and can often be extremely flexible when it comes to hours for high school, and college students. Every holiday you will get "gifts" in the mail, and co workers are generally up beat and friendly.
Cons – Depending on your manager your experience will either be great, or a living nightmare. Your biggest issue will be the customers, not so much the workplace itself.
Advice to Senior Management – Learn to schedule for holidays and major sales. Having one carryout and 3 cashiers is not anywhere near realistic during rush hours on busy days. If you schedule properly other days of the week then you wont run into so many payroll issues.

Current Employee – been working at Menard part-time for less than a year
Pros – They basically let me set my own hours, while coming in at 5am. I worked about 35 hours each week.
Cons – Underpaid for the amount of work I did and the quality of work. I left because of the lack of advancement and raise in pay in my position
Advice to Senior Management – Offer more than a 10 cent pay increase.
