I have been working at Menchie's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Gaining experience and friendships through my time there.

    Cons

Not being promoted after working for a while, other people who get hired in two months are seen as more valuable for shift leads.

I worked at Menchie's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Paid training which last for about a week or 9 days. Exactly agreed upon hours and days. You could win prizes or gift cards as a team. They influenced you to give you more confidence in the work place even if you were not that great at your job.

    Cons

You had to have someone pick you up if you had no ride and worked the night shift or else managers would get upset that they would have wait with you until your ride got there. Worked late evening shifts a lot and would get out around midnight or later. There was no opportunity for growth. You had to use job-aids for every little thing like checking yogurt quality, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes, cleaning machines, etc. The manager was very uptight and would take stress out onto employee's. You have to be really good at remembering things as fast as you can. Pay was really low.

    Pros

Flexible hours, decent starting pay, opportunities for tips, easy work

    Cons

Owners sacrificed good customer service and products to cut corners in their budget, refused to fix the A/C, rude customers, no real training process

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management was awesome, it was just my store owners

I have been working at Menchie's part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I like that I finally have a job, that I'm getting work experience, and having discount yogurt whenever I want. My co-workers are pretty cool too, I can always ask them for help. I work part-time so it's obvious I won't receive any benefits.

    Cons

I just started so this may be unfair, but the manager of the Menchie's I work at seems disorganized in how she runs the place. I also wasn't given adequate time to be properly trained; there's still so much I don't know, like how to clean the machines, because no one ever taught me how to do any of it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be a procedure book for employees to reference if they're not sure how to perform a certain task and there's no one around to ask for help. Also, I would love it if my manager would remember that I'm a student who cannot work day shift during the weekdays because I go to school.

I have been working at Menchie's part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    1. My fellow coworkers are friendly
    2. I get decent hours

    Cons

    1. The hours can be very unfair
    2. The wages are way too low for what we have to do
    3. I feel like just a number
    4. The regulations are ridiculous
    4. Owners are rude, both Andy and Andrew. They look at us as just a number.

We are so overworked and taken for granted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be some changes with regulations as far as employees, what they can and cannot do. The wages should be raised by at least a dollar more per hour. The schedules need to be composed better.

I worked at Menchie's full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The only real Pro was the discounted frozen yogurt. Not even free frozen yogurt, but discounted. It beats nothing though.

    Cons

Challenges working at the 19114 location included a lack of flavors that the community wanted, little to no incentives, poor wages, under staffing and over working, a franchise owner who bad mouthed his clients on the floor, no set training program, and overall poor staffing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Close the franchise and go back to Home Depot.

I worked at Menchie's part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Nice people and free yogurt during your shift

    Cons

Worst franchise owner ever! He runs the store like a prison work detail instead of a yogurt shop. This has been a terrible experience for me! The owner used to run a national chain hardware store and he still thinks that he is there. He needs to remember that he is working with young people and not people who are looking to make Menchie's their career!
