I worked at Menorah Park full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

UNION. I have worked there for several years,. if you're willing to learn, they are willing to teach.

    Cons

Staffing sometimes a challenge. Head nurses un willing to "help" but expect the same outcome with patient care.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help out your staff when needed, it"'s not always the paperwork its the care of the resident.

I worked at Menorah Park part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The managing staff were great to me. Very professional setting.

    Cons

I do believe more time should be allowed to finish task in the dietary shifts. It seems like an abundance of work is being crammed into a four hour shift. Other than that I can't think of any other Cons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep positive attitudes and encourage the staff. Continue making sure the servers look the part--well groomed and are professional at all times.

Everyone is a type A personality, but that's what made them the facility they are,.

I have been working at Menorah Park part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Hundreds of activities each month, certified trained staff, onsite rehab, dialysis, hair salons, pubs and signature dining options, five star zero deficiencies, employee training and incentives, nature center, special events, on-going education classes and visiting scholars, and much more!

    Cons

Medicare and Medicaid cuts - fortunately, do NOT affect the quality of care, but we must rely more heavily on the kindness and generosity of our donors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you are doing, you are setting new standards every day as to what a senior living campus should be!

Current Employee - State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) in Beachwood, OH

I have been working at Menorah Park

    Pros

Menorah Park is one of the top rated nursing homes in the country. Pay starts off at $11.80 before you are state tested. 3 week STNA classes are free, and you are usually offered a job afterwards.

    Cons

As it pertains to management: Sub-acute residents are treated like royalty, while long-term care residents and employees are treated like peasants. The nursing supervisors (mainly one supervisor on 2nd shift....with a long white coat) can be completely egotistical, uncaring, and not capable of empathy. The turnover rate at Menorah Park is extremely high, because leadership doesn't know how to treat the employees. Well over half of the STNA's employed at Menorah Park are currently looking for new jobs. Menorah Park has a new STNA class EVERY month because people are constantly being fired or quitting.
