Try your luck, so management are very good and some very bad. If your group REORG a lot, you are in that bad luck place

I have been working at Mentor Graphics for more than a year

    Pros

Great company if you report to right division , try your luck , some management know how to grow with the team, try avoiding division which keep REORG and under performing!

    Cons

Some division management uses very bad way to motivate workers to perform, some group REORG like very quarter so workers to put constant pressure on worker on new task! Once worker are drained, they will kick them out with pip package

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To the Try to train middle management , don't just uses new hired worker like oem factory workerS so middle manager can get promoted after draining worker like a non-rechargeable battery

I worked at Mentor Graphics as an intern for more than a year

    Pros

This company had very flexible shifts, competitive salaries, and many perks that attract employees from all around the world.

    Cons

It is very competitive to get a job with this company. Other than that, I have nothing to say against Mentor Graphics.

I have been working at Mentor Graphics full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work / Life balance is great. The company culture is very relaxed and flexible. They value the freedom of the employee. Benefits are decent for a mid-size company with not so much growth.

    Cons

In Mentor, moving up the corporate ladder is difficult, not too many opportunities to grow/move to the management level. People tend to stay for long periods in the company, so the older folks who are managers remain so!

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Wilsonville, OR

I have been working at Mentor Graphics full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible working conditions, good salary, professional peers. The individual offices vs. cubicles in Wilsonville is also great...when things get noisy I can close my door and continue working.

    Cons

Absolute career dead end; there is no career advancement policy, nor do any managers discuss it. It's not a part of your review.

Performance reviews are a joke. Lately managers have been saying "just put the same self evaluation as last year and change the date." Not just my manager, but many people I've talked to. Extremely de-motivating to bust your tail and get the same 3% raise as the slacker next door.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you did the employee survey several years ago, the number one issue was absence of career planning. NOTHING has been done to change that. Unfortunate as this would drive Mentor to the next level of success.
