I worked at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to drive a E class or higher Mercedes-Benz vehicle for a weekend Friendly corporate environment Very likely to get a full-time position from the internship

    Cons

Older office - not a lot of younger people working in the office

I have been working at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The benefits/Insurance, the car program and REACH. There is some work/life balance depending who you are currently working for.

    Cons

The location in North Texas, in the middle of nowhere. There are many managers who expect you to be chained to your laptop or phone 24/7. The day I received an email from my boss at 5am on a Saturday, I knew it was time to post out to a new area or flee to Farmington Hills. Most of the managers above a team leader level seem constantly stressed and nearly bi-polar.

    Advice to Management

Senior managers really need to take long hard looks at who they are putting in management spots directly below them.

I have been working at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company really cares about its employees and there is great opportunity to develop your skills. There is also a lot of opportunity to advance, dependent upon your motivation and drive.

    Cons

Systems are old but undergoing transition. Takes a while to get any changes done. Pay is a little less than industry average.

    Advice to Management

    Hold employees accountable.

I have been working at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services full-time

    Pros

The benefits are top notch, and the vehicle programs are the best. Company really values its employees!

    Cons

Sometimes the time it can take to get things done due to the reporting relationship to Germany.

    I worked at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services full-time

Daimler is a wonderful company to work for.

    Cons

    Pros

People there are nice. The pressure there is okay, and you will not be too stressed out if you work there. If you like car and want to do something about finance and accounting, it will be a good place for you

    Cons

The location is not good. It is in Michigan, where the weather is so horrible. If you want to work in some warm place, do not go there

    Advice to Management

The managers are nice, and they are very easy to go with. But sometimes they are too nice, and do not give enough penalty to someone who makes mistake

    Pros

Great leadership and team atmosphere. Very good benefits and work-life balance.

    Cons

Difficult to get salaried full-time position (not as a contractor)

    Pros

Very enjoyable workplace, everyone was friendly and helpful. Good benefits and perks from the job, and room for movement. All around great place to work.

    Cons

The pay isn't as high as the average for the industry, however the benefits do make up for it a little. There is room for movement, but it may take a while and need to wait for an opening.

    Advice to Management

Management was great, I feel that the managers should have a little more oversight over their employees.

I have been working at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great leadership. Mercedes-Benz motto is 'the best or nothing". You can really feel it at this place. A lot of pride. Company really lives its core values and personal integrity. A place for team players. They demand excellence. Very strong customer focus.

    Cons

The roots of this company are firmly planted in German engineering. This company plans for everything. They plan a lot. This is not necessarily bad (look at their products). But if you do not have a high tolerance for ambiguity or if you have a strong bias for action, this may not be the place for you. Definitely no place for "cowboy-mavericks".

    Advice to Management

Moving in the right direction. Continue to listen to your employees and help reduce complexity i.e. processes and systems.

I worked at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

benefits; 401k; retirement plan; nice office

    Cons

Horrible communication between departments, hypocritical organization, management pretentious, do not make new hire process simple especially if you work remotely, management skills in some depts. poor and unskilled

    Advice to Management

Spend more time training employees for management positions; IT department is brutal when assistance is needed; new hires made to spend week in Texas but leave without completing necessary protocol to work remotely
