I have been working at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India

    Pros

Pros are only for people the following kind of people in MBRDI:

    1. Those who know to play cheap and dirty politics right from the level of fresher till top management
    2. Worthless people who don't want to work, just kill time, browse free internet
    3. Those who thrive on boot-licking
    4. Those who love superficial professionalism wearing ties and suits at the sight of Germans in the company.
    5. Those who are from Robert Bosch, MBRDI is a heaven out of their slum.
    6. If you are a female, submissive, and rarely voice your opinion.

All in all, if you are a true professional and love to remain that way, don't join MBRDI

    Cons

MBRDI never used to be this way even as recent as 2 years back. It used to be a dream company. But now, it takes a lifetime of typing to list all the cons of the company.
Any service company has better defined organization hierarchy, transparency in processes than MBRDI.
The diversity target is a mere number because the company has too much male chauvinism in its DNA.
The day is not far, when MBRDI will go down as a failed organization, and Daimler will just close it down showing it as a loss making entity to save on their taxation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please pull down the high flying Mercedes Benz flags in front of your offices, and replace them with those of Robert Bosch Gmbh.

    Pros

transport, food, internet access and on time exit. Cross functional skills apart from your core design and IT skills.

    Cons

Due to growth phase, those who works, continue to work too hard. But, most of them don't have work.
Lot of top management are from Maharashtra and Andhra. So, the recruitment and career progression are only for those from these state origin. Groupism and regionalism is clearly visible.
Germans most of the time don't have clue on local politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Identify hard working employees and recognize them. Structure the growth and compete parallel to IT companies. Bring transparency as a practice. Don't print slides in the name of transparency.
