I have been working at Mercedes-Benz USA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are unmatched in automotive industry. This company truly gives you the room to grow and not just in your specialty but cross functionally. Of course driving a Benz is always a plus. Constantly being challenged with progressive goals and projects that are not a waste of time. Teamwork is very prevalent and encouraged, as well as having a professional individualism. Co-workers all are great, willing to lend a hand and go above to help you and your goal. Never worked with so many people who genuinely want to make things better and not maintain status quo or just earn a paycheck. MBUSA is saturated with employees who are passionate about the brand, and our customers. Compensation is excellent (even if we were all making 1 millions dollars we would still want more!), with many perks.

    Cons

    Being in north New Jersey.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove people who are no longer performing, we will not continue to be the number one automotive luxury brand for long with stale performers who are not pushing their teams correctly. Our industry runs over the complacent. Would be nice if HQ was in a more favorable Cost of living area.

I have been working at Mercedes-Benz USA part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Learning about the automotive sales industry has always intrigued me, so if you have the same interest then i would definitely apply here. The schedule is always consistent, unless something come up. Do not be afraid to ask for coverage. In general, do not be afraid to ask for help. Mostly everyone is nice and willing to help and answer your questions. The job tasks are relatively simple and easy, pretty self explanatory.

    Cons

Don't have really much to complain about. There is a tendency to run in to monotony and it can be hard to break it up. Get creative!

I have been working at Mercedes-Benz USA as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Great work-life balance. Most people go home at 5pm everyday. Convenient onsite cafeteria. Nice, friendly people. Obviously, a great product but the USA office is run very differently from Germany.

    Cons

Almost everyone is a contractor except for upper management and the account leads. There is no onboarding process whatsoever. Communication is dismal so you really have to be proactive to understand what's going on in terms of the brand. Upper management rarely speaks to you unless they have to. Some people get by by bullying others and there are some that do very little. There is a lot of nepotism as well so these people are favored. Very political and those with the best experience do not get get ahead. Those with the best connections get ahead. It is very rare that a contractor ever becomes a full-time employee so most of the good people end up leaving after a year or two. There are some contractors that have been there for years and years but I think they are just stuck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show some appreciation to your contractors. If you want people to stay longer than a few months, teach them about the brand! Onboard them in terms of process! Introduce them to other people in the company so they don't aimlessly run around trying to figure out who does what.
