Pros

The Mercer name recognition as the largest consulting firm in industry is a great positive. The fact that they disclose all commissions is a positive as well. Some of the offices are managed very well where others are not. Mercer has so many resources that a local firm would not have.

Cons

Poor management, Unfair treatment between employees. Managers are not experience and I think references need to be checked before hiring someone in on this level. Unjust promotions, employee relations are not handled properly in some offices which cause disgruntled employees. The company continues to be sued as employees leave employee employment. +

Advice to Senior Management

Background checks and more experience managers. There have been managers who were hired for an office who are actually located in another state and do not have any idea who these people are. The people who are in that area know the reputations of these individuals and they should ask around before hiring them in management positions.
