I worked at Mercury Drug as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Mercury Drug is the leading and biggest Pharmacy company in the Philippines. Pharmacy Interns get access to all the resources of the pharmacy site they are assigned to --- and these resources are helpful in making the interns knowledgeable of drugs (their use/s, drug class, contents and more).

    Cons

The internship does not come with any form of compensation, and therefore interns shoulder the expenses of getting to the internship site on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

A defined list of activities throughout the internship program can be made to make the experience more fun and exciting.

    Pros

It is a good training ground for new professionals.

    Cons

Pharmacist' were not given the appropriate respect for their profession. Some supervisors are destroying the reputation of the employees by eavesdropping about them to other branches. In addition to this, tension was created until working is already not enjoyable.

    Advice to Management

Give due respect to the position of your Pharmacist for they deserves every inch of their profession. They should be given the appropriate and sole authority of decisions regarding the dispensing of medicines especially the prescription and dangerous drugs. Watch some of your supervisors thoroughly for they destroyed the reputation of your employees leading to the destruction of the smooth flowing working relationship that should be present in the company.

    Pros

Very good benefits. It makes up in benefits what it lacks on salary. They usually give bonuses often, I think quarterly.

    Cons

Uncompetitive salary compared to other community pharmacies. The job might be tiring for some because of the heavy customers in peak hours.

    Advice to Management

Benefits are good but it would be better if you would also raise your employee's salary. Other pharmacies of smaller companies are able to that. I think you can also since you are a large company.
