I have been working at Mercy Medical Center (NY) full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great place to learn about health care careers and gain experience to help you move up or go back to achool

    Cons

Nasty, condescending coworkers, upper management doesn't care that the majority of workers slack off or disappear, no respect for lower level workers, lack of interest in addressing concerns broached by staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to pay attention to the little people. Reward hard work with the salary it deserves and stop telling employees the only way to improve their salary is by staying for a long time. Implement career ladders for all jobs, not just those that you deem more important.

I have been working at Mercy Medical Center (NY)

    Pros

Great insurance, reimbursement for education, nice amount of time off, very close-knit community of employees.

    Cons

Cannot take earned time off because there is no staff available to cover, very underpaid for position, covering for employees who left to go elsewhere mainly due to the lack of competitive salary offering, micromanagement at its finest, lack of educational growth in the workplace, no direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need more work-related education (on-the-job guidance and better resources), competitive compensation to retain employees, and pay better attention to the trends within the hospital, especially with regards to quality of care.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
