    Pros

This company tends to compensate new employees very well. They are willing to take on people who have potential, but don't yet have the experience or skills for the role they are hired for. This could be a good company to use as a stepping stone in your career.

    Cons

Advancement once hired is extremely difficult in this company. Both in job title, and pay, they lack the systems to properly recognize their employees for their work. The company requires a fair amount of travel, and long unusual hours as you will be working with employees in India on off hours. Payment from bonuses, and stock options are not a guarantee, despite completing your objectives, and are rarely paid on time. The corporate atmosphere is terrible, as most employees are unhappy, and those with the means to get out leave the company, resulting in high turnover. If you are looking to be happy with your work, this is not the company to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This company needs a complete overhaul of management structure. Employee compensation, and more importantly respect needs to become a priority.

    Pros

    I do not have any.

    Cons

Poor management that does not care why so many GOOD employees are leaving. Employees who have never managed anyone become managers and do not have any idea how to manage employees. You are expected to work very long hours. Bad/hostile attitude among many employees. Don't expect to be paid on time. Culture/benefits way under par. Board of Directors are crooks.

    Pros

The Office Culture is chilled out like a College- you can drop in whenever you want, Go as you please (As long as you are in the good books of your manager). Employees come in Bathroom slippers and clothes that do not need a wash but sterilisation the next time you meet them. Yet we are an Equal Opportunity company- we welcome you to work even of you are sloshed or stoned.

The culture drills down to the communication style too- email language are like a marketplace slugfest, its almost as if the teams have substituted IM with the mailbox.

Flexible work timings: You can come to office any time you want as long as you send that 1-2 am status mails to your managers and the whole world. My manager goes missing for weeks and yet does not miss sending a single 2am mailer

Open Culture: Swearing on the floor at the top of your voice is considered as "leadership skills" . You can do whatever you want on the floor as for some strange reason the only camera's in the building are pointed to server room doors.

Amazing Learning options: You get real life survival skills here as there is absolutely no training- the only trainings that exist are canned presentations or WebEx recordings which will help you get great sleep every night. Google is the Go-to learning tool for everyone on the floor.

Invisible Leadership: The team believes in this mantra and remains missing from office most of the days of the week thereby giving plenty of options for the cabins to be utilized as meeting and recruitment areas. The only time you will see them is when someone from the US drops in or when there is an event with free food and booze being dished out.

Over the top Salary Packages: a 100pc hike is like a minimum at MetricStream, even at the appraisals if you are in good terms with the managers you are in for a treat. This is one area where MetricStream excels- its makes you just too costly for the competition to poach you.

Work life balance- What is that?

    Cons

There are very few cons here but a few include:

PS NA- As the term says "Professional Services- Not Applicable" , this place is like the Guantanamo Bay- the rules and policies of the company does not apply here. You must be John Rambo to get into this place and come out alive and sane. Its heartening to see some of the brightest minds in the industry crumble here.

No Legal team: 2 of my team mates quit the organisation by keeping their Laptops, ID cards on their tables and dissapeared with large smiles on their faces. Now they are working in companies next door and yet people on Notice period are not getting confirmations on their LWD even after serving 60 days of notice!

Promotions: You get promoted whenever your senior quits, so the competition is very intense on who gets kicked out and how.

Perks: I find the free Parle G biscuits very interesting but we should have some variety with the burnt coffee and tea.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please take a critical look at the company and step in to save it before it collapses like a pack of cards

    Pros

Good place to start, but not the best place to last.
Job security & little challenging job, because of workloads.
    Have solid client base.
    Have good business domains.
    Flexible timing.

    Cons

    No personal life.
Too much of weekend work, that's the expectation from the management people also.
No room for learning new technologies & no solid training or documentation.
Very short deliverable due to revenue collections.
Life is very bad in professional services team, may due be the mgmt. But other team employees are satisfied, also they work for only 8 hrs, & no slogging

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management & managers should think twice when they ask their employee to work on weekends, as they have their personal life too.
Need to plan the project deliverable properly by providing ideal time for completion, just not only thinking from the revenue perspective.

I have been working at MetricStream full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are an R&D person, you can pretty much do well. Of course, the regular projects come along to get things going. New projects are aplenty, to bring in your own tech ideas. Architecture team is top notch, can help and review to guide the team to the right tech/architecture/design.
Overall, management is making an effort towards being a well managed company. In 1-2 years time if things are in right direction, can be a very good company to work in. The management is trying to bring lot of transparency into the system which is helping.

    Cons

In R&D, you will have to the do the dirty job once a while, to keep focus on customers' requirements.
Prioritization is always a challenge, given the maturity level of the domain (market niche) the company is addressing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Can improve compensation to retain talent. Need to weigh in long term benefits of solid architecture and have a separate strategy for short term.

PMG... One Annoying position you guys added and its just to create WebEx calls.. Spend that money to get some quality MTS or Trainee , they are just useless annoying people.
If you send out a mail at 2:00 AM it been considered that you are hard worker and you will beat a guy who worked whole day without getting up for loo.
If you are married this company is not for you , if you are newly married its definitly not for you. Join and you will end up with a divorce.

    Pros

Lots of projects to work on.

    Cons

The work culture is not good i.e. imbalanced lifestyle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Kindly take care of the employees who have been an integral part of the company's growth. You are more focused on getting new employees and paying them enormous salaries while the bulk of the work is being done by your existing workforce. Be very careful while recruiting new people, especially the ones who come from the so called big companies because they come for the money you offer. Once they are in, they start grumbling about the processes we have in MetricStream and look down upon the MetricStream employees as we are still a small company.
