Current Employee – been working at MetroPCS full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The employee 100% paid benefits were excellent and salaries were above standard in most departments. The new company should be viable, since TMobile is five times bigger.
Cons – Since it is always lean on staff, there are few places or chances for upward mobility. The hiring should be sparse for both Metro and TMobile for the next 6 months, while they figure out who to lay off and who to keep.

Current Employee – been working at MetroPCS full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The stability of the company has provided job security during difficult economic times. The environment is entrepreneurial - fast paced and an all-hands-on-deck approach to getting the work done. It is exciting to be on the cutting-edge of innovation in new technologies. Employees have great opportunities for broad learning given the multiple roles of each department/function.
Cons – While stable, there has been limited upward mobility across the company. Promotions are few and far between. Of course, some departments fare better than others. There is occasional disagreement between certain cross-functional groups, which manifests itself in poor communication and a lack of strategic alignment across the organization.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more proactive in disseminating a clear-cut corporate strategy and ensuring that the tactical work aligns accordingly. Don't be afraid to promote your best performers.

Former Employee – worked at MetroPCS full-time for less than a year
Pros – not a lot of workload
Cons – changing schedule within 1-2 hours before hand
telling you to leave and then come back when they do no pay for your gas
working every sunday because you are the back up
all they care about is the store, not if you are ok
no commission nor bonuses (wishingstar wireless)
no health insurance
minimum pay when you are doing manager's job

Current Employee – been working at MetroPCS part-time for more than a year
Pros – starting pay was 8/hour which was okay for a summer job at the time.
flexible schedule ...if you let them know a month in advance
Cons – wasn't paid fairly though. my boss wouldn't look at clocked hours just what was on schedule. i would sometimes stay an hour after closing to help customers.
i was usually the only one at the store with no breaks.
my boss would pay the full-time employees "salary pay" and he wouldn't pay them overtime when they were working 60 hours a week. could have been my boss but it was so ridiculous.
Advice to Senior Management – since all stores are privately owned, you should really pay attention to the owners of the stores to make sure they follow protocol. owners like the one i worked for were sneaky and left a bad taste in the mouth of many.

Pros – The people are extremely friendly and helpful and you feel like the company cares about you. Also, the benefits are great!
Cons – At times, promotions and mobility within the company can be difficult but it's something that HR is currently working on.
Advice to Senior Management – Sometimes it seems as though the people that are getting promoted and are towards the top of some management chains are put there for reasons other than merit and management capabilities.
