I have been working at MetroPCS full-time

    Pros

Wireless Experience, Sales Experience , Customer service. Usually relatively flexible hours. You can easily find a store hiring . No wireless Experience .required

    Cons

Lowest hourly wage . NO Benefits if working for an authorized dealer. Very High turn over so you could find yourself working alone.

    Pros

Although the base pay isn't great the commission usually helps balance things out.

    Cons

These stores are usually privately owned by men/women who don't give a damn about anything but making a profit. If you are a female and and manage a store, be sure the store and the management do a good job in ensuring your safety and being honest about your commission.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are the gears that keep the company going. Appreciate the little guys.

I have been working at MetroPCS part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relatively decent hours. Pretty strait forward responsibilities, good co-workers. That's about it.

    Cons

Management sucks. Pay isn't fantastic, even by the stretch of the imagination. Service okay, but products and customers are awful. A little shady on sales techniques. Very undertrained, had to figure it out mostly on my own. Manager lives and manages another store TWO HOURS AWAY! So had to call for help, which sucked because he couldn't always answer the phone. High turnover rate. Hard to up-sale when what's advertised is practically free.

    Advice to Management

Better training! Management that can assist better and locally. Advertisement could be way better, can't sell if nobody comes in. Listen to those below you, some have great ideas!

    Pros

Get to basically not come in as long as nobody complains. Sort of new equipment and a few nice projects now and then.

    Cons

Company swallowed up my T-Mobile, lack of direction and all talent left during interim. People left could not find jobs elsewhere. Entire departments were let go during merger, staff still on edge.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people, they might stick around. Attempt to retain staff, lackadasical attitude about defections is depressing. Spruce up office, "low cost provider" is a mantra at metroPCs, but there is a difference between cheap and loser cheap.

I worked at MetroPCS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked for MetroPCS for over three years. But during these three years, I saw tons of changes with the way the company operated and handled their business. MetroPCS was definitely growing, and need to accommodate for their rapidly growing customer base. The company is definitely rapidly growing and has a fantastic team of focused individuals pushing the company to heights unforeseen. Employees get a full-featured rate plan at a great price.

    Cons

While they introduced new features and plans for customers alongside new 4GLTE services, they revamped commissions which could impact your pay positively if you happened to work at busier stores. Smaller stores, however, only saw a sharp decline in the amount of revenue generated from sales. It seems like smaller stores are not their focus at all. Being from a smaller store, our staff was extremely limited, resulting in me having to often work an additional 20+ hours per week with minimal compensation. In addition, your store was allocated a specific number of new devices to sell depending on previous sales numbers. So if you sell more, your store gets more phones to sell. However if you sell out of phones, you have no phones to raise your numbers with, resulting in your numbers not seeing a real increase.
