I worked at Meyer Sound as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

The environment was very relaxed, and most people there seemed to take their work pretty seriously all the same. This is a nice combination. Plus, the coffee machines are automatic, so there's never an issue with people not refilling coffee. This is paradigmatic of the experience at large. Where possible, amenities were made constant so that there was no issue of work environment responsibility.

    Cons

The work place is multicultural, and if you do not have experience with this kind of environment, thins may be difficult for you to adjust to, if you are in the assembly departments for example.

I have been working at Meyer Sound full-time

    Pros

Very passionate, friendly, and knowledgeable technical teams with people you can make friends that you can keep for life. Flexible schedule. Family culture. People work hard and are very proud of the company.

    Cons

Depending on the department, there are no periodic review structures. You either ask or you get nothing.
Family-based company where decision-making and strategy do not follow any defined processes. Can feel chaotic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Meyer Sound full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Great products.
-Exciting projects in the arts and culture.
-Being a small part of the live music industry.
    -Good internal education.
    -Flat management structure

    Cons

    -Lack of good middle management.
-Low ceiling. No route to higher pay or responsibility.
    -Can't keep up with growth.
    -Too much tribal knowledge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay to retain talent. And listen to the mangers that are in charge of specific things. Executive overrides specialists too often.

I have been working at Meyer Sound full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Meyer nurtures a culture where everyone contributes to a common goal of producing the highest quality products that are designed to last forever. Nothing, nothing gets overlooked.

    Cons

Individualists, people wanting shortcuts, those who do not work well in teams, who fear chance taking, and especially those who do not have a passion for audio, will not do well here. Another possible con is that you can get so into your work that you forget to go home.
