Advice to Senior Management
DMs should actively visit store in HI. The rules and regulations in the employee handbook is never enforced, no one ever gets written up for insubordination. SMs should adhere to the policies and procedures. Performance management is important to help employees develop skills, but because the SM does not do performance management a lot of employees are in specific job positions that they are NOT qualified for.
Increase in pay for the amount of work all employees do on weekly basis would benefit and sustain a healthy culture. There is so much paperwork like CSPs, PORs, Sales reports, jet set training, etc. The work load aside from selling is astronomical for a retail store.
Pros
Great place to work where you feel proud to be a part of the team and your managers genuinely care about your advancement.
Cons
Very fast-paced, but if you are able to handle it and like a fast-paced work environment, this is the place for you!
Advice to Senior Management
Interns should be given more opportunity to explore different roles within the company, especially since all interns are still in college and their career paths are not set in stone. Better support for these possibly future employees should be provided so that they can perform to the best of their abilities and contribute more to the company.
Pros
Flexible Schedule
Great co-workers
Good environment to work in
Cons
Painful to work long shifts especially in heels.
Pay isn't too great
Pros
Great customers and good product,
Cons
It's a shame there is such a disconnect between upper management and the bread and butter of their operation.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a good , hard look and actually listen!
Pros
- generous employee discount
- the name looks good on your resume
Cons
-senior management does not listen to those on the bottom end of the storeline totem pole.
-little to no room for growth
- they literally want to work you to death and not increase pay, offer further training nor grant a promotion
-they give you a hard time for calling in sick or taking vacation time
-no work/life balance: they want you to be available via phone/email even after you've clocked out.
Advice to Senior Management
- invest in your staff
-give recognition/promotions where it is due not just based on the buddy system
-- encourage a work/life balance
Pros
50% discount was the ONLY good thing about this job.
Cons
Management very condescending to sales associates, not worth the killer high heels and all the rules that make no sense.
Advice to Senior Management
We make the sales that keep your store afloat. We are not inferior, don't deserve the treatment you dish out.
Pros
Great way to learn about fashion. You learn how to wardrobe and coordinate outfits. Way to learn how to effectively sell luxury items.
Cons
Since the retail stores are fairly new, they don't have a integrative system between online store and physical store.
Employees can be slightly snobby/catty.
Pros
50% discount
relatively friendly people
hands on work experience
supervisors delegate real work to interns
most employees treat interns with respect
Cons
it's still in the fashion industry, so inevitably, there are some typical "fashion" divas who are passive aggressive and superficial
Pros
Great compensation and bonus structure
Great discount
Cons
Too many hours
Very few systems in place
Upper mgmt very passive aggressive
Favoritism
Advice to Senior Management
Good company if you do not care about work/life balance
Pros
employee discount is the only thing keeping me here
Cons
Terrible management
unprofessional work environment
unfair promotions and scheduling
Advice to Senior Management
Change and retrain management at this store, starting with the store manager !
