    Any Good Recruiter's Dream Job

Recruitment Consultant (Current Employee) Houston, TX

Pros- Most supportive, creative and experienced management team I've ever worked with (track record to prove it)
    - Full desk and full support for creative and strategic advancement
    - Best training program ever to be seen in or outside of the industry
    - Work hard/play hard (if you like to work hard)
    - You can make $six figures+ if you really want to in your first year
    - Amazing incentives that are actually awarded and followed through with
    - Quick growth process and promotion potential if deserving
    - Entrepreneurial mindset opportunity with the backing of a globally respected high class recruitment firm and the financial backing to grow your own business.

    - - - What all recruitment firms and companies should model themselves after

Cons- Poor past management and staff culture/outlook on recruitment/work ethics = smoothing over any bad reps from previous employees
    - Minimal 8-6 work day (if you're slacking) which those hours alone could be a con not including how many hours the successful employees work -- however if you don't like to work hard this isn't the company/industry for you

Advice to Senior Management- Keep it up. You are what every management team should be no matter the company or industry.

True work hard, play hard environment!!!

    Senior Recruitment Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsGreat place to start your career as a young professional. Michael Page truly represents a meritocracy where people are praised and taken care of in way of benefits, compensation and career advancement for those that put in the hard work.

Michael Page offers a unique opportunity to develop as a professional and expand your experience nationally, and in some cases, internationally. Michael Page is a well-regarded brand in the marketplace and there is a level excitement received by our clients and candidates who work with the firm.

ConsAs in most sales/business development environments, there is a level of internal competitiveness that develops, which essentially motivates people to deliver exceptional results, however, in some cases, the internal competition can be a bit much at Michael Page. As the firm continues to grow and develop in the US-Market, offices and teams will be able to work closer to achieve a common goal and support the mission of the company.

Phenomenal sales training. Terrible culture and upper management

    Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsThe only pro of this company is the training and it's the only reason I gave it two stars. There are two training programs that each new consultant participates in. The trainers are incredible and they really polish your pitch. I was lucky enough to have an awesome manager but the people above him were terrible.

ConsThis place is a complete and total sweat shop. The hours are ridiculous and unnecessarily long. They hire young motivated people with no sales experience, get everything they can out of them, and then fire them. The "discretionary bonus" is ridiculous. Most recruitment companies will give you between 10-30% commission on deals but with MP's discretionary bonus, you have no idea what type of commission you will receive on deals. The company culture is disgusting. If you decide to leave at 6:30, people will ask if you're taking a half day. There is constantly someone harassing you to be on the phone. Honestly, If you are not the kind of person who would join the military then DO NOT join this company. If you do join, go to the trainings and then get out to a normal company.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop subjecting people to this misery

Good culture, stressful/long hours and poor management

Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) New York, NY

Pros*Good to way to learn full cycle recruitment
    *Very fast paced
    *Strong training program
*Great company culture with monthly celebrations on individual wins

Cons*Management can either lack communication or be overly micro-managed
*Long hours (minimum 11hr days), so work life balance is poor
    *Bonus structure is "discretionary"
*Heavy focus on key productivity indicators (phone minutes, calls out, resumes sent, etc)
    *Rather high turn over
*People get fired with little to no notice

Advice to Senior ManagementGive more insightful feedback to employees on how to BETTER themselves, which would in turn drive productivity/revenue. Do not just let employees work, work, work, then fire them when they aren't doing what you want them to do. COMMUNICATE!

Great experience with MPI's Accounting & Finance interim team.

Associate Consultant (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsGreat training and coaching from day one.
A lot of room for personal growth within organization based on performance, not office politics.
Healthy base salary + bonus structure.
    Great vacation/benefits package.
    Fun people to work with.
If you are willing to put in the work and show value, the company will take care of you.

Cons11 hour work days, but they are very transparent about that from day one. Limits work/life balance.

Best firm for career growth, amazing opportunity for driven and determined individuals

Senior Recruitment Consultant (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsTransparency - probably the best thing about working at Michael Page is the transparency regarding the direction the company is going and the path you are on for your career. Targets are clearly set and attainable, if you are willing to work hard you are given the tools to succeed. people who are interested in ultimately managing a team or moving to another city/country will have these opportunities at Michael Page and it won't take 5+ years to get there

Training - the training team is excellent and the training program is continuous throughout your career. The first 6 months include multiple week long training sessions and after that, as your career progresses, the training continues

People - The work hard/play hard mentality is very true - the people here are driven and competitive but always outgoing, social and helpful

Promotions - if you do will here you will progress quickly and you will be given the tools to do so

Rewards - quarterly and annual trips across the country and across the world, attainable targets and employees are giving the tools to make the most of their careers
Earning potential - uncapped quarterly bonuses mean no limit to what you can earn and the base salary provides stability while you are going through the learning curve

ConsYes the hours are long but the days go so fast -- I would much rather be here than in a 9-5 that isn't challenging. Once you've established yourself, you get the freedom to come and go when you need as long as the work gets done

    sweat shop work environment

Recruiter (Former Employee) New York, NY

    Prostime off is pretty nice
    pretty good training program

    Cons-ridiculous hours - 8am-7pm (more like 730am-730pm)
-management is all former frat stars who just to put you in your place whenever they can
-fire people even when they are consistently making placements
-high turnover-only reason someone would stay is to keep their resume looking clean
-tactics are slimy and seemingly unethical

Advice to Senior Management-learn to respect and teach people, not just yell at those that are actually willing to learn

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
