I have been working at Michigan Automotive Compressor

    Pros

Steady income no lay offs but that's because they have a hard time keeping people.

    Cons

Extremely bad uneducated management very detached, no consistency across the company, work you like a slave 12 hours a day 7 days a week, give you vacation days but they only let an extremely small amount of people off on the same day so you can never use vacation for when you want to use it, poor to none training, no tuition reimbursement, non union so they change work rules at will, if you get hurt they try to find ways to terminate your employment, no sick days, hazardous and extreme working environment, bad air quality, people get hauled out in ambulances almost every other day due to being over worked. Company is in a bad downward spiral.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to get rid of 3/4 of management and replace them with people that have a clue real quick. Need to stop promoting drinking buddies and become more professional.

    Pros

Benefits were great and made decent money.

    Cons

Long hours, lackluster management for the most part.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Adhere more to your employees. The company motto says the employees are the greatest asset but they're treated otherwise.

I worked at Michigan Automotive Compressor as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

"This could be a great learning experience for someone who wants to become an automotive engineer."

    Cons

'Hostile work environments and upper management did not listen to their hard working employees. There were many mistakes and management was never held accountable for their employees. Little or no training and extremely dangerous work environments in my department."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

"Listen to your employees and their concerns. 12 hour days, 7 days per week for a month straight will produce burn out, unsafe, and unproductive employees which in return produces a higher rate of faulty compressors."

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
