    Pros

They are very flexible with their student employees and realize that education comes first.

    Cons

They are disorganized and I don't feel like employees are paid as well as they should be.

Former Employee - Landscape Architecture Intern in East Lansing, MI

I worked at Michigan State University as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Great flexibility for student schedules, really working around midterms and finals. It was a great opportunity to work in an office for one of the first times in my life - I got to experience what an office culture looked like. Great practice with time management, goal-setting, punctuality, and professional dress and attitude: I was also very valued as part of the team. I received opportunities for scholarships and references in the future.

    Cons

I don't feel like I was actually pushed to get better, nor did I feel like I improved much (apart from getting more comfortable with design programs).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Require a certain number of hours from students, or have students give the maximum number of hours they can work and require them to stick to it. I need/ed to be pushed to get better.
