I have been working at MicroTech full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Top 3 reasons I enjoy working at MicroTech
    1. Phenomenal staff. Highly intelligent and motivated staff focused on the bottom line, the team consistently exceeds standards.
    2. The initiative is yours to take. If there's an opportunity you want to pursue, the CEO will support a well thought out plan.
    3. Ambitious. MicroTech is a fast paced, evolving work environment; always focused on the win. The learning never stops and the networking opportunities are endless.

    Cons

Not much to complain about. The experience is really based on your performance. Like anything else in life, you get what you put into it.

    Pros

Great People, Great Work Environment and Fabulous Benefits & Pay! Lots of changes especially with Management - out with the old and in with the new making this a better place for solid performers! Many of the poor performers are gone and lots of good people have been hired to take their place and you can feel and see the difference. Lots of cry-baby complaints on Glassdoor and other places from the weak and lazy who were identified and cut which tells me they probably needed a change in scenery!

    Cons

Traffic is a nightmare and deli on the first floor is not so great!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have noticed a big change with the slimmer leaner management team and its impressive! Continue to set the bar high and if they can't perform at the expected level trade them out! Don't allow the poor performers to weigh down the team! Love the changes and the new attitudes and see great things coming! Continue to do good things and the great people you have will attract more of the same!

    I worked at MicroTech

    Pros

Always plenty to do. Hardly enough time in the day to find a free moment, in fact, with the amount of hours they want you to work.

    Cons

Questionable ethical practices, horrible retention, refusal to give raises, no profit sharing, my-way-or-the-highway management style, continue to use your credentials on contracts long after you stop working there, all too frequent demands to do non-business related work or personal favors for the surly, churlish CEO. Throw a rock in DC and you'll hit ten people who hated working here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pack it up, thrive off your ill gotten gains, and make some room for the non-supervillians of the small business world.

I have been working at MicroTech

    Pros

This is an amazing company that is better positioned to win big contracts today than any other time before.

    Cons

People who can't keep up or who want to come in and tread water are weeded out quickly. Most will blame everyone except themselves! Are things perfect - No, but they are better than the five other places I have worked!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't let the haters ruin the great things you are doing! Keep doing what you are doing and eventually they will get tired of throwing mud!

I worked at MicroTech full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Marketing does a good job of promoting the company on the internet, with social media, and in advertising. The company used to have a great reputation which still carries some weight around town.

    Cons

It's a chop shop - no training on the products actually available for sale, tons of vaporware to sell, no training on internal systems or processes, constant re-orgs, and sudden disappearances. And then there's the incessant promotion of CEO "Tony". Very difficult work environment.

I have been working at MicroTech full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

None. Don't have much positive things to say about this company. Most of the regular employees are pretty young and cool.

    Cons

Every day you fill like a piece of meat waiting to be thrown to the lions from the ceo's exec cohort.

Fabulous Company with great people and excellent benefits

    Cons

Lots of competitors use websites and surveys to slam MicroTech and other the impression it less than excellent! Been so good for so long it attracts haters!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to do what you do and people will continue to come and you will continue to win the big contracts.

I have been working at MicroTech full-time

    Pros

It's a job, if you can drink koolaid and ignore what is going on...then it is great.

    Cons

The company is more concerned about stroking the egos of senior management than actually taking care of it's employees. I have seen on here where a SVP from MicroTech says their pay is great.....it is only great for SVP. The rest of the employees are treated as just a body to keep a contract...there's not investment in staff and when they lose a contract...they just fire everyone on it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perhaps actually care about all your employees instead of being self centered. If it was not for the 8A status they had....they would not be a company in the real world.

I worked at MicroTech full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Many government contract vehicles.
There are good people still left.

    Cons

No raises in the last couple of years. Shrinking company, used to be several times it's current size. Now they are selling pieces of the company off. Legal troubles, public relations troubles, morale issues, owner issues, the list is very long. Too many get rich quick schemes trying to chase the next big thing, not enough attention paid to the core business that made money.
