I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Microsoft is a Value driven company focused on Technology. The baseline for every employee is to reflect on six values including - Honesty and Integrity, Self Critical, Open and Respectful... You can be sure that the people you are going to work with, will be wise. Then comes the next focus - Technology. Company is very particular about the quality of its deliverables. I loved to see that customer focus. It is not about what I think is cool, but what customer would asks for. Company is very employee focused. Leaves and benefits and work-life balance is at the focal. Microsoft is not the top payer in market but it does ensures that its employees do not have to think about money (unless one wants to be rich overnight).

    Cons

A flood of managers came from companies like Convergys, Infosys and TCS who brought in Bossy culture and number driven environment. Masses are drifting away from the base line - Values.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to drive Value culture with a lot of force.

    Pros

The harder you work and show your outcomes and impacts, you will be rewarded. You get all the facilities like cab, breakfast, lunch dinner, snack card, XBOX, pool, billiards.

    Cons

If you really want to grow here you would need to be co-operative with all managers. Should never be negative about anyone, the system, colleagues or managers

Corporate Hierarchy is Political and has babudom and mathateko culture. However, on a high note there is big cons, employees hired here are made to feel good about themselves.

Hire Good Leadership cadre candidates in Management roles, especially PDM roles are going to folks who has absolutely no leadership influence and lack basic EQ.
