Pros
The remaining workforce has a lot of talent that, when engaged and challenged, consistently deliver. Starting salaries can be good, if you can prove your worth.
Cons
The remaining workforce is tired and frustrated. Underutilized talent pool. If the economy was not as it is now, many would leave. Poor management communication and follow-through. Good 'ol boys still horde tribal information. Fumbling with new computer technology.
Advice to Senior Management
Follow-through with your employee commitments, listen to your subject matter experts, value what they say. Communication within all departments needs improvement. Accountability at ALL levels. Code of Conduct.
Pros
Great people working around me. Good technology to work with. Like being around the aircraft.
Cons
Poor management, have not a clue as to what we do or how we do our jobs
Advice to Senior Management
Start paying more attention to the people who actually do the work
Pros
great job stability because of the backlog in work orders and pay was decent and the health benefits were good
Cons
upper managment was incompentant some time they would expect 3 to 4 weekends a month mandatory for overtime and saw no real advancement for opportunity
Advice to Senior Management
pay more attention to what the employees are saying and the advice that is given in ways to help save the company money and opperate more effeciently
Pros
Midcoast has a solid healthcare package for their employees at a great weekly rate.
Cons
Management has Poor person to person management skills along with poor communication skills to not only their peers but also their employees. Continuing opportunities throughout the cabinet and finish shop communication. Outsource contracting is becoming overagressive problem-being as we have to comtinue to fix their mistakes making the job drawn out longer each time setting back plane delivery dates. Pay is not compettitive with the rest of the industry especially with the growing market prices and St. Louis cost of living.Good-ole boy system of management in effect. If your not with the "in" group of people or just not liked you will be set up for failure at everything you do rather rated or graded on your actual skill at your job or punctuality towards attendance and meticulous work ethic.Management refuses to change old ways to new standards and fights each new implemented change.
Advice to Senior Management
Hopefully now that General Dynamics has taken over we will see some improvement in the above areas mentioned I only wish that they look hard into some of the senior management and individual shop supervisors to make the right decisions to see if they are really qualified to be in the positions they hold . Also to make sure the people we are promoting are actually qualified for the job they are being promoted to and not just a friend or buddy of another manager.
Pros
Pay. Not much benifits for staying the long run.
Cons
The company is ran by the HR dept, they have push out rule after rule in the last year from being late to getting points against you if not enough time is for a sick day.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat the workers like you want to be treated, not as a device on a gameboard.
