I worked at Middlesex Savings full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and a pension plan.

    Cons

Behind the times with technology ..Not all branches where consistant with procedure and policies. Pay rate is lower than other institutions. Teller positions are being eliminated and replace with Banking specialist title. More work same pay rate as teller.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training needs to be updated and more classes to do so. Procedures need to be the same across the board. Communication amongst tellers and managers need to be flow more freely..

I worked at Middlesex Savings as an intern

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, people are helpful to get you up to date with all the work as soon as possible, easy to get a hold of people you have questions for

    Cons

If you start as an intern it is hard to get into a full-time position - the turnover at the bank is very low, which is a very good indicator for the workplace, but on the other hand the spot might never open for you to fill in

    I worked at Middlesex Savings

    Pros

Great people - the company values community. The hours are great and they really respect work-life balance. They'll never fire you - once you have a job with MSB you're set forever.

    Cons

Top management doesn't do much to keep the workers informed of changes, or status on how the company is doing. They never fire under-performers. Pay should be higher.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You could trim down on the number of back-office employees (get rid of the folks not pulling their own weight) and then give nice raises to those that are left. You'll end up spending less money on salary while giving your valued employees more money and getting more work out of them. A lot of people sit around and twiddle their thumbs but you're unaware of that.
