I worked at Midtown Athletic Club full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Within Midtown Health, you will meet an amazing set of managers and trainers, they really have a passion for health and wellness and for developing their staff. This is a great company for starting in the fitness industry, you get to learn the ins and outs of the operational side of running a gym, all while still training and teaching classes

    Cons

Almost zero support from corporate management. All of the corporate clubs are controlled by one single regional manager, who can't be everywhere at once. So if you are a manager good luck getting things done with their approval. Salary is also not competitive vs other corporate wellness companies.

    Advice to Management

Support your club managers and help them when necessary. Telling managers to handle things, but not giving them the power to do so sets the up for failure.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Midtown Athletic Club full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I liked the duties I had - operations, personal training and group exercise. Some of the other employees were friendly.

    Cons

The benefits were average at best. There was very poor management at multiple levels. It was a very poor work / life balance. The pay was not sufficient for the time and effort required.

I have been working at Midtown Athletic Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely everything about this place is a pro.

    Cons

Only get a 30 minute break; however; with all that is in the area, thirty (30) minutes is enough time to get in your car, get fast food, eat it, and get back with five (5) minutes to spare.

    Advice to Management

None. Management knows what they're doing - and they're brilliant at it.
