I worked at Milan Polytechnic University

    Pros

High level of expertise of Professors. Good connection with top tier international University. Good connection with Italian high tech companies.

    Cons

Poor level of PhD courses: poor materials, poor lessons and poor evaluations.
    Poor comunication among different groups.
No money for cutting edge instrumentation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would suggest the following things:
    1) look at US top tier universities and to copy the best of them
    2) stop complaining 24/7 on the lack of money
    3) invest on the people and don't exploit them
