    Pros

    Great product, good company reputation

    Cons

One of the company tenets is "Respect the individual". I don't know how the top leaders sleep at night considering its one of the most disrespectful working environments

    Advice to Management

Get rid of anonymous surveys that degrade trust. Why are there no women in leadership positions?

    Pros

Great team of people to work with. Strong commitment to the customer. Good products.

    Cons

Hit hard by the downturn in housing. As our market kept dropping there were many changes in direction and cuts in headcount. Hard to deal with but understandable as the company (and the industry) were in a fight to survive.

    Advice to Management

Respect the people working hard to help the organization succeed and give them the tools they need to pursue excellence. Look forward for success in the marketplace, not back to "the good old days".

    Pros

Milgard treats employees fairly and seem to really care about the people who work there. Corporate is awesome but the actual workplace culture in the day to day alot of the actual employees in the office are catty and petty and it is a stressful office environment because of that.

    Cons

There was a lot of game playing and throwing people under the bus instead of working as a team, and I found this to be true from the top down, it really made me sad

    Pros

Milgard was a great start to my career. They believe in their employees while giving back to the community. The employees and managers worked well together to acheive the goals they had set.

    Cons

While wanting to expand they did not have all the tools needed to do so.

    Pros

Great people to work with . People who work hard and do not bring their own agendas do very well. There have been some bad eggs (posting on this board) but were either fired or left the company. Executives are good people..seem to care a lot about employees

    Cons

Profit sharing was cut and just recently started up again but not a lot. Lot of changes past few years but looks like its getting better. Bonus program is best I ever had.

    Advice to Management

Do not assume just because someone is achieving results that they are a good employee. Get rid of bad employees faster.

    Pros

Milgard philosophy is about respect, customer service and pursuing excellence. Most people can embrace these principles, but those who can't should seek other employment. Pay and benefits are top tier, especially the employee discounts on Milgard and Masco products. Strong commitment to continuous improvement. Senior management is effectively balances employee, customer and business needs.

    Cons

Business tracks with the economy so subject to downturns. Could improve training for supervisors. Preference to promoting from within, which limits the influx of new ideas and methods.

    Advice to Management

More senior management visibility. Broader employee recognition.
