    Pros

Some departments were wonderful - everyone got along, the work is important, the best benefits in any industry. Some very smart people

    Cons

Some groups in Clinical were horrible. There were some egos that were so large, some managers who were so devoted to "their people", and some who would step on anyone in the attempt to get ahead.

    Advice to Management

Some people are so negative - why keep them? Even if they get work done, if the people who work for them eventually leave, why go through that? It's expensive to continually rehire people.

I worked at Millennium Pharmaceuticals as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    Employee events; compensation; work-life balance

    Cons

I was a contractor for 2 years and they would have kept me on as a contractor indefinitely had I not left. Aside from this possibly being illegal, it does not give the contractors incentive to stay. About 1/3 of the company is made up of contractors. While the contractors were always included in special events, the lack of job stability and manager bias against contractors was enough to make me leave.

    Advice to Management

Value your resources and give your contractors incentive to stay.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Millennium Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    It's a job now.

    Cons

Once the CEO was forced to leave the collaborative culture left as well. Too many senior directors and directors who are not held accountable. Information is not shared, and the partiers of corp comm waste valuable $ and resources!!!

    Advice to Management

Japan....we are NOT japan....you purchased Millennium for our expertise, collaboration and you have just about destroyed the business. All of your top scientists are leaving, all of senior leadership has already left.

I worked at Millennium Pharmaceuticals as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture. Interesting work. Liked the people I worked with. With recent realignment of corporate structure, things are probably different now.

    Cons

Still some growing pains with integration into takeda. Don't think having a huge pool of long-term contractor is beneficical long term. Would recommend this company if joining as a regular emplyee just not as aa contractor

    Advice to Management

None. Didn't interface much with senior management

I worked at Millennium Pharmaceuticals as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

The company shows a lot of appreciation to its employees. Employees are rewarded for their hard work. The work environment is good - a balance between hard-working employees and a comfortable environment.

    Cons

I was only an intern while I worked at Millennium so there was no room for promotions. Although I was only an intern, I was treated with the same respect as the full-time employees.

    Advice to Management

Continue showing appreciation to employees. Employees who feel appreciated and respected will show that in the work they do.
