Pros
Great Pay and steady work
Cons
Demanding schedules in a very seasonal industry
Advice to Senior Management
Fight for marketshare and take care of your current employees.
Pros
Forced development in technical competence. You need to learn about equipment, systens, and processes if you want to succeed.
Cons
Upper management out of touch with front-line issues at time.
Advice to Senior Management
Development if succession planning needs to be refined at the plant brewery level.
Pros
I worked with some excellent people who were great at their jobs. The pay and benefits were very good as well.
Cons
The political environment was toxic, office union for non-exempt caused many problems, but management was also to blame for a very "dog eat dog" environment
Advice to Senior Management
You need to listen to your people and understand protecting poor employees with tenure at the cost of new employees is very short-sighted.
Pros
Benefits are good, and the 401k match is generous. Free beer every month.
Cons
Team Leaders held accountable to make everything happen in a supposed TPM environment. However, no other departments practice TPM except the packaging department, which makes it a failure. No compensation for working 12-hour days to cover another shift when short-staffed. Revolving door for Team Leaders, the smart ones figure out it's a burn-and-churn, and leave for another opportunity as soon as possible. Team Leaders are brought in from other companies, with education and skills, only to be hit by a good-old-boy management team where only their buddies get promoted. And forget anything you know about food safety or quality or real GMP - - it is a joke at Miller Coors.
Advice to Senior Management
Fire everyone at Level 3 and above, and start over.
Pros
I worked for miller for 5yrs it was a very rewarding job it was a union job with security and the pay was great.
Cons
unfortunatly I worked for the plant in olympia Washington the job the plant was shut down 7 years ago and 375 people lost there jobs.
Advice to Senior Management
please bring back jobs to olympia washington we really need a large company like miller brewing company to help support are town.
Pros
Good benefits, excellent job security. Beer drinkers will always drink beer. Co-workers did their job. Upper level management is paid better than most.
Cons
Fast pace plant culture makes little room for family life. Still retains some of the corporate "fat cat" culture, but is managable and decreasing. Lastly, you either walk the company line or you leave, like I did.
Advice to Senior Management
Enforce company policies on ethics and business relationships with suppliers. Both were a punchline when I was there. I was forced to resign on pain of a poor performance review because I was unwilling to file false quality reports. Please eliminate this environment of corruption.
Pros
Miller Brewing Co is a fun company to work for. There are opportunities provided you are willing and flexible to move and travel.
Cons
Work life balance can be a bit of a challenge. You could possibly work 12-16 hr/day and still be able to do more.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to make work life balance more of a priority. Reward employees often and in front of their peers.
Pros
Miller Brewing Company offers the ability to travel and be responsible for a territory or a program.
Cons
The work hours are long for those who actually want to do a good job. People are promoted into management positions based on who you know or tenure rather than performance ability and thus has led to bad management decisions. The communication between departments remains to be an issue.
Advice to Senior Management
SAB Miller has allowed Coors Brewing Company to allow a disportionate amount of unqualified Coors employees to outplace qualified Miller employees. This will eventually lead to a loss of business and market share for the company. Bad Management choices were made.
Pros
It is always great to work for a large company because of the opportunity to grow. With the current company in the middle of a lot of change, it is hard to say what any chance there will be for growth in the future. The company is great with benefits, 401k, bonuses, and free beer. I am hoping that the new company will operate better as one company that the two companies operated separately. There are a lot of smart people who have been in the business a long time and should be able to take the new chances and make a big difference.
Cons
Hard to say what's to come.

It is constantly changing environment
Cons
Poor communication between upper management and the rest of the facility
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up and get real. You have built silo's rather than tear down walls
