Pros
nice workers, nice building, nice opportunities to meet others
Cons
Not enough communication between business units
Advice to Senior Management
Start listening to the worker bees
Pros
Great location and fairly flexible hours. There is opportunity for advancement for those willing to take on extra work outside their assigned tasks.
Cons
There is a problem with understaffing that causes many people to wear down while working under these conditions for extended periods
Advice to Senior Management
Work to improve employee morale by reviewing the formulas for year-end bonuses so the amounts given to all employees are meaningful
Pros
Small team, and challenging work, and free to learning a lot of new stuff, good benefit (health insurance, internet bill reimbursment, etc)
Cons
Not much growth opportunities, and need to work overtime somethiems.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to opinions from engineering team
Pros
Time off and benefits, people
Cons
Little or no communication between management and employees
Advice to Senior Management
Understand that Mindspeed isn't two companies, just one.
Pros
Technical challenges and growth
Fast pace leading edge designs
Exciting technology areas
Diverse areas of opportunities
Ability to contribute, ability to be heard, ability to make a impact and difference
Cons
Technically weak senior engineering management
Little top down competent technical direction or guidance
Tough schedules and limited money to invest, so need to do a lot with little dollars
Periodic hard work life balance, typical in industry, better than some, worse than others.
Advice to Senior Management
Need many more lower level engineers to leverage senior contributors
Senior engineers forced to do everything much like a start-up, but workload is so high management need to leverage and expand individual contributors.
Pros
Company has very nice people and in good area of Newport Beach.
Cons
There is little or no growth personally and professionally due to the environment of the company. The company has for a long time struggled to find profitability. Only recently has performed satisfactory from a financial perspective. Because of this, the company has always look to cut cost and that meant layoffs. I was never affected. I left on my own accord.
Advice to Senior Management
Management is doing their job to improve financial performance of company. Due to that, personal growth and professional development are limited.
Pros
good to join as a fresher
Cons
very very long working hours

Pros
It is good place to work if you do not have as professional so carrier ambitions. There are required "workhorse" In Kiev office. All decisions are made in NPB (Newport Beach) - headquarter office.
Not bad environment. In most there is a focus on results.
Cons
As I told there are required "workhorse" In Kiev office. All decisions are made in NPB (Newport Beach) - headquarter office. Management only informs people in Kiev about any decision. Very rarely people can be asked for suggestions.
In addition I would like to say usually CEO (and board of directors) does not sell the big quantity of shares if he really takes care of company. It means no any respect from CEO to hired people. CEO is satisfied with his current personal income. It is enough for him and he is not interested in people and their work environment.
Advice to Senior Management
I would recommend to reconstruct a personal business visions. Strategy and business approaches should be changed too.
In addition the attitude to the hired people should be changed for the better. People are not "workhorses" only if you would like to build a rich company. People is a team who builds this rich company but with good leadership.
Pros
Excellent growth opportunities. Benefits of publicly traded company with the agility of a small business.
Cons
Local competition has the potential to place company in a reactive mode. This, however, is also inherent to the semi industry.
Advice to Senior Management
Continuously calibrate allocation of R&D investments.
Pros
Good people, good work-life balance
Cons
Tenuous financial situation making for very slow decision making
Advice to Senior Management
Take some risks! This go-slow approach has not worked so far.
