Pros – Assisting individuals with barriers to employment with stepping towards self sufficiency. Developing relationships with businesses and employers. Gain skills that will benefit you later in your career, especially if you are entry level.
Cons – The pay is low and the atmosphere is tense at times. This organization has laid a number of people off in the last few months, and continues to struggle financially.
Advice to Senior Management – Provide your employees with better tools to contribute to more successes. Have a database of contacts so that your department does not have to start from scratch each time an employee leaves the company.
Pros – It was a hard job that paid you well for the work that they required of you. The staff was almost like a second family.
Cons – The work was extreme and never ending. A raise would have been helpful in order to make for happier staff.
Pros – Helping those in need find meaningful employment
Cons – Non-Profit - salary not as high as for profit industries
