I have been working at Minnesota Twins part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Management cares so much about all their employees and the environment is the greatest. I highly recommend working for them if at all possible.

    Cons

They only hire from referrals so you need to know somebody. There isn't a lot of cross-departmental friendships.

I worked at Minnesota Twins as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere to work in, collective group effort allowing for great exposure to multiple areas of the organization

    Cons

Honestly, I would not change anything from my experience. As an intern, I understood the compensation would not be great but the experiences I gained were more valuable

  3.

    Very positive. First class organization.

I worked at Minnesota Twins full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They treat their players very well. They do not take shortcuts and they respect the game of baseball.

    Cons

They are very competitive. They will cut or release any player at any time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to build through the draft.

I worked at Minnesota Twins full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good people. Work in sports.

    Cons

Very hierarchical. Upper management is on a pedestal, and is not open to new ideas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Innovate your business. Experiment. Too much stagnation.

I worked at Minnesota Twins as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

-Fun and friendly environment/people to work with.
    -Work hard/play hard culture.
    -Always something new every day.
-In some form or another, baseball is part of your job.

    Cons

-Difficult to advance due to lack of positions opening.
    -Long hours during the season.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-My advice to management is that communication desperately needs to get better (within departments especially, but also across departments). The team aspect is lacking and can be improved by better communication.
-It's also never a bad idea to go beyond the boundaries of your own department and learn how other departments function. See how you can apply those strategies and ideas to the area you work in.

    Pros

Fun place to work, friendly staff and management that seem very competent, good pay for job, fun to watch the game while at work.

    Cons

Working outdoors that involves a lot of standing, difficulty in understanding the opportunities for advancement or even lateral moves within company.

A beneficial experience that helped me understand the inner workings of a professional sports team.

    I worked at Minnesota Twins

    Pros

Tremendous networking opportunities to advance in the professional sports industry.
The family-like feel of the organization.
Chance to grow skills in working with people (nearly everyone interacts with the teams' fans).

    Cons

    Inconvenient working hours.
Difficulty in advancing within the organization.
    Lack of individual performance reviews.
Letting the love of baseball interfere with accomplishing job duties.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the avenue of advancing within the organization clear to all employees.
    Continue encouragement of all employees.
Individual reviews would be tough for some departments, but it would probably be beneficial for both management and employees.
