Pros
Management supports a good work/life balance -- they understand that the vast majority of their employees commute from nearby cities and take this into account when determining how many hours employees to work to be full time.
Very laid back atmosphere with great co-workers.
A lot of autonomy.
A great place to work if you want to be home with your family.
Cons
Not a lot of challenge or ways to advance in the company. Not a great place to be if you're ambitious.
Pros
An easy gig if you don't mind the lower than industry average pay. Most of the people are nice, fun to hang out with. Old Mission culture was much better than the "new" one.
Cons
Always treated with mistrust first, constantly having to prove otherwise - gets old quickly. Management has favorites and leaves major decisions to people who are uneducated and should not be leading anything much less a sales staff. New bonus system is just plain cheap, sales staff was lied to regarding bonus potential and how calculated is not at all clear, it's completely made up and unprofessional. Morale is poor and untrusting - sad how the company changed under new leadership.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat people with respect and pay a fair wage. Sales people want to sell - not be treated like we are all trying to screw the company. Hire leadership with an education and make team decisions - too much was power placed on one person who is in over their head.
Pros
There are some very good reasons to work here. The benefits are pretty good. They include 4 weeks of pto, yearly bonuses (most years), modest raises. The environment is pretty laid back, and there is no stress to speak of. They pay is also pretty good when compared to the same position at other companies in the area. The good side of us being so understaffed is that the company almost never lays anybody off.
Cons
promotions are few and far between. Because of the lack of opportunity for advancement and the long commute, the turnover rate is high. Good work often goes unnoticed. There is little professional development to speak of.
Pros
This is a great job for a person who wants a quiet life with lots of free time for family or other activities. The work week was just short of 40 hours (the company shortened the work week because most of the employees worked in nearby cities/towns with a far commute).
Cons
Not much of an intellectual challenge and not much room for advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more business oriented and take the risk to expand R&D by hiring more experienced/educated workers -- any paying them accordingly.
