I worked at Mitchell International as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Really liked the people working there and the company vibe. There's many activities to get the employees up and socializing.

    Cons

The work was very easy. The only challenging part was picking up new tools and getting set up. Other than that it wasn't really challenging.

    Pros

A lot of activities and trainings.

    Cons

Like all big companies, it is bit slow as far as making decisions and/or making actions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mitchel is a big company and it is like a big machine that needs some labrication to work smoother and faster. Departments are slow in making actions and/or making desicions sometimes. Improve communications between departments.

I have been working at Mitchell International full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I personally have an amazing boss. He's the Inside Sales Manager. He works very hard for us. He makes sure things are fair for you. He works with you for any extra Training. As a "sales" team we work great together and help each other . Salary is great, Benefits Great, Targets are Attainable and Commissions are Amazing. I've worked here 18 months. Before this job, I worked as a sales person for 13 yrs at similar company. They treated you awful and didn't pay you no matter how amazing your performance was. I will be making close to 100k this year with Salary and Commision combined. That doesn't count all the extra rewards they give throughout the year. My previous company selling four times as much I made less than 50k. It starts with M1.

    Cons

I don't see any..Honestly. I would recommend this Career path to my family and all my friends and previous co-workers. Actually I HAVE !

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

THANK YOU FOR CARING ABOUT US AS PEOPLE AND OUR FAMILIES.

I have been working at Mitchell International full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great colleagues, meritocratic workplace, good training, decent benefits, learn lots of highly relevant technologies, they are in the process of converting to agile

    Cons

Salaries for engineers are somewhat lower than industry standard, data management policies can cause bottlenecks and blocks in software engineer productivity, required to work with a lot of legacy code that is not well tested (making it difficult to change)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to become more agile, remove bottlenecks in software development process, trust engineers with more DB priviledges

    Cons

Some of the less pleasant things that I needed to do were fill out a self assessment, goals and other related information.

I have been working at Mitchell International full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Work life balance. Good campus.
Good Salary/Benefits. Company has been seriously doing exercises to build a brand.
HR has been taking initiatives to make the place more employee friendly.
    Company has been going agile.

    Cons

This might be dependent completely on the team you work for.

Lot of politics. Management lacks vision. Lot of effort gets wasted on stuff which are completely useless due to the lack of vision and politics. Criticism of the management team is not welcome. The turnover in my team has been pretty high - but no steps has been done to identify the reason and fix it. Teams tend to play the blame game on any issue rather than stepping up and solving it. Lot of layoffs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Identify inefficient middle management and get rid of it. Identify people who really gets the work done and reward them. Welcome 360 degree feedback.

I have been working at Mitchell International full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Nice Campus/Building
    Flexible Schedule
    Corporate Structure Improving
Management and C-level communication with employees
    Pay Is Competitive
    People are friendly

    Cons

Management lacks vision and too much shifting direction
Constant moving people around from team to team
Product release management is terrible, with chaotic deployment cycles
Very buggy systems. Constantly fire fighting issues.
Way too much outsourcing to India. It has caused major issues with code quality
    Too much process
Some people there too long. Need new blood.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove some of the process... its way too much. Stop shifting direction so much. Stop moving developers from team to team.

I have been working at Mitchell International full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It can be a good place to work if you don't care about producing quality products or delighting the customer.

    Cons

Mitchell is faced with the hard realities of driving the business purely on short-sighted financials for way to long. Non-existed product quality and more than a decade of technology catch-up to do. Not a company for those who value engineering.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Establish a meaningful vision. Find the company's identity and fix the hiring practices. Learn to trust.
