    Pros

Flexible work environment and challenging opportunities to grow. I had many opportunities to learn new technologies and expand my knowledge on existing technologies. Mitel has industry leading technology and a great R&D group which creates many paths for people to gain knowledge on products.

    Cons

Somewhat low pay scale but the flexibility makes up for that so I am not sure it is a con. The benefits are not good, no 401k match. Information is hard to obtain on existing and roadmap products making it difficult to pass on solid information to perspective customers.

    Advice to Management

More information on company direction would be good.

    Pros

Everyone is working towards the same goal - making Mitel #1 in the telephony business. Excellent direction, management and guidance.

    Cons

Health benefits are among the worst in the market place. Alternatively, it's still better than Obama care.

    Pros

This is a company on the move. I have been with the company for 7 years (14 if you consider time at a company that was acquired). Mitel seems poised to move into a strong leadership position in the midmarket space and consolidate the industry. Room to move in the company if you're ambitious and are a hard worker.

    Cons

Confusion on product portfolio due to new acquisitions. Healthcare package could be better.

    Advice to Management

Products don't launch - they escape from the lab. More focus is needed on proper launch including marketing, sales enablement. Products need to integrate better form a management perspective - too many interfaces.

    Pros

Good benefits package including private medical insurance, death in service, subsidised pension scheme. Generally quite generous salaries. Good senior management structure. Able to influence the business in any position. Left alone as long as you do your job. Some departments under resourced resulting in poor work/life balance.

    Cons

Staff turnover fairly low resulting in difficulty to progress when you reach a certain level. Middle management tend to have been in post for a long time and are not progressive and driven.

    Pros

Laid-back environment with lots of flexibility towards your work schedule. Decent benefits package provided. Engineers are involved with all phases of the software development process. Wide variety of interesting and challenging features project to project, so it's easy to stay engaged and avoid getting bored. Get to work with many talented and knowledgeable engineers and learn a lot in the process. All levels of engineering and management have a very open-door policy.

    Cons

Lots of overhead in software process even though Mitel is not dictated by government regulations. Could afford to be a little more aggressive (maybe a little too laid-back in some areas). Not much feedback from management aside from performance reviews.

    Advice to Management

Institute means of increasing retention of engineers.

    Pros

Always on the cutting edge. Excellent Mobility applications that we actually use! Let's workers work from anywhere and still get the job done. Products, services and a Company we can be proud of. All the divisions of Mitel as well (DataNet, NetSolutions etc...) allow us to be a one-stop shop for our customers and that makes offering a solution you KNOW will work effortless!

    Cons

It was tough merging with another culture over the last few years; but we've come through and I think we combined the strengths of both companies! Sometimes there is a lack of communication about product roadmap and Surprise!! we have a new offering announced to everyone before those of us IN the company even know what it is!

    Advice to Management

Give your field-based employees more opportunity to provide input into product direction and development. We are on the ground with our customers as their needs change and we see technologies develop (IPhone!!) before the guys in the back room do!

    Pros

The director of my department was a very effective manager with great communication skills who always made time to listen to the suggestions and concerns of his employees.

    Cons

When the two companies merged my department was phased out over a period of about one year and eventually my position was too.

    Advice to Management

When you discount over thirty years experience of a successful business model while integrating two companies the result will be less than it could have been.

    Pros

Salary and bonuses are rewarding. Good benefits. Emphasis on product training recently with opportunity to meet colleagues rather than only talk to over the phone.

    Cons

There are long hours and little work structure. Recent changes in management I feel are highly contributing to structure concern. Fast-paced, many products to learn plus technologies such as MCSE, VCP, and CCNA/P.

    Advice to Management

Rebuild a structure for employee work/life balance and growth.
