Extremely POOR experience... would give 1/2 if I could, only because they provide AC & Heat.

I worked at Mitel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great restrooms in the Mesa AZ location. That's all for the positive comments!!!

    Cons

They don't even have covered parking UNLESS YOU PAY FOR IT MONTHLY...WTF!!! It soars well over 100 degrees everyday in the AZ summers. You can't "afford" to pay for FREE covered parking for your employees that upper management expect to be working 24/7!?
This place is a complete JOKE... they don't care about the employees, they'll lay anyone off if it will save them a couple bucks!!! Especially when they're acquiring soooo many new companies and they have save for the stockholders (on the board, that is). They LOVE to screw the revenue reports by saving they've had "record numbers" but, follow that public statement with a yet ANOTHER sneaky, behind closed doors, snake like lay off/hiring freeze. Sounds like a company achieving "RECORD REVENUE" numbers, doesn't it? As a prospective employee (if a local dishwashing job isn't available) understand one thing. This job will remind of being a kid again; because you will always be micro managed and your judgment will constantly get challenged. Your daily or weekly one on ones will consist of... did you take out the trash, clean your room, do the dishes, vacuum the floor, water the yard etc...etc. You will feel like your getting scolded by your parents all over again. The ONLY reason you will find tenured employees there now is because they are waiting for the nice severance pkg they have in their future... and it's coming, and they know it!
Lastly, they are TOOOO many employees with MACROCEPHALY.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My best advice to "management" is to stop pointing fingers, accept accountability, get your hands dirty and pitch in to help create a positive work environment that builds morale and motivates. HELP FIX THE PROBLEMS, rather than obsess over fixing the blame!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, and most importantly...PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES & STOP CHARGING INSANELY HIGH MEDICAL COSTS. Not everyone has an inflated title and salary.

    I worked at Mitel full-time

    Pros

There are a few good people left who have managed to avoid the mass redundancies that seem to happen every other month.

    Cons

This is the worst company I've ever worked for -
    - Execs are only out for themselves and their over-inflated egos. The CMO leads this pack.
    - Middle managers don't think twice about stabbing their staff members in the back to protect themselves.
    - Bad healthcare and 401k.
    - Total lack of process and poor leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop blaming your employees for your lack of leadership and strategy.

I have been working at Mitel full-time

    Pros

The constant churn - makes it easy if you need an in-between job, and very difficult to get fired (for the same reason).

    Cons

Everything about working here, with two exceptions - I get paid more than unemployment and 2: free air conditioning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Are you guys conspiring to drive the company into the ground, or seriously believe your stone age like decisions and/or rules and and Tarzan-like chest-beating actually benefits employees or Mitel? If the latter, I'm convinced Mesa water is laced with hallucinogens..

    Pros

Flexibility and up to date technology. Distinct and low client list. Mostly government and business settings.

    Cons

regional diversity and communication within employees. To much covering and not looking forward to the immediate present.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No comment. Overall company is pretty good.

I have been working at Mitel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Enjoyable and hard working co-workers --- some with many years of experience.
Fast moving environment --- new products, processes and alliances which increase the opportunity to move into new roles or new positions.
Management trying to recognize individual and team achievements more.

    Cons

While there is opportunity for profit sharing, there is no matching 401k, no cost of living increase, no annual salary review.
Much is expected and many changes introduced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to feedback from employees, show appreciation both with words and salary increases. Some managers work hard to instill teamwork, provide opportunities to celebrate as a team and recognize successes.

I have been working at Mitel full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Execellent product for SMB market. PBX features with a key system price. deployable without harrdware as a software only solution in a virtual environment. This capability allows the PBX and associated applications to take advantage of VMWares advanced feature set as it relates to business continuity.

    Cons

They need to invest heavily in order to compete in business verticals outside of basic applications. No vertical market focus outside of education and hospitality. Contact center desperatly needs work.
Sales management constantly changing, and currently comes from a SMB source. They don't fully understand what it requires to compete in an enterprise market, and lack the products to compete for business with 500+ employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Primary weakness of revenue generation is lack of business partners capable of selling and servicing enterprise clients. Keep your employees, they are the strength of your company. Focus on signing up better VAR's capable of producing $3M+ annual revenue.

I worked at Mitel full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The opportunity to meet some great people

    Cons

They have laid off people almost every quarter since 2008. No contributions to 401K

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Customer service to your customers is the last thing you strive for, If it were you would keep your most qualified people that have the experience and skills to do so.

I have been working at Mitel full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Slight flexibility in schedule; able to arrange make up hours for dr. Appointments, etc
Occasional pot lucks and company- sponsored dinners out or cookouts

    Cons

No positive feedback from management unless one is a "favorite"
No input or feedback allowed from employees to lower management (this is considered "disrespectful".
No comments on job competence unless it is negative
No response to positive emails sent to management
Definitely too much time before a "temp" position is hired on permanently - up to two years
I've been permanent for three years (temp for two before being hired as permanent) and have gotten only one small raise since - $.17

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the people who are on the phones talking to the customers. They can tell you about the response to opening and closing statements. Allow suggestions and don't be so rigid and closed-minded. Don't assume people are unintelligent just because they are at a lower level in the company than you. Give employees more than one chance at extra projects when small mistakes are made. DON'T talk down to subordinates - we are NOT children!
