Pros
People are friendly and they assist with new and difficult situations. Also they are good at giving new options as an employee tenures
Cons
Need to be proactive and help with more challenging assignments.
Pros
- Very good internal staff (Technical Recruiters & some of the Account Managers)
- Unlimited earning potential
- Solid benefits package
- Commission structure seemed strong (although I only know about 4 or 5 companies comm. plans so my frame of reference might not be truly accurate)
- Good database for candidate and client tracking
Cons
- Very poor Sr. leadership (micro-managing, abrasive, condescending, etc)
- Low base salaries (no raise in 4 years of employment, despite a very strong track record)
- Minimal training (traditionally, best Recruiters were trained elsewhere before being employed by Modis)
- Heavy emphasis on metrics (internal interviews, call connects, etc), less emphasis on results often times
- Back office was substandard (often payed contractors late, onboarding internal employees/contractors seemed labor intensive and complicated, no concise process in onboarding folks)
- Little follow through on policies and procedures by all levels of management (often allowed for unprofessional outburts, profaninty, and condescension between employees)
- Indifference to changing economic trends (increasing pay rates/decreasing bill rates, competition offering full benefits, not instituting a legitimate training program for junior-level employees)
- Overall, generally low morale throughout the office
- Expected an 8a-6p work schedule despite workload, no exceptions
- Very high turnover at all levels
- Commission payouts were convoluted/delayed (often unsure of what resources you were being paid on, and whom you had been paid for placing -- really had to monitor closely on your own)
Advice to Senior Management
I may come across as a "sour grapes" former employee, but I left on my own, and have no regrets whatsoever. My recommendations to mgmt. are vast, but in a nutshell -- treat people well and adapt. There are some phenomenal people who've worked at Modis, and left with a very poor taste in their mouths.
Pros
Quick and easy interview and contract process.
Cons
Some communication issues on details about compensation once working.
Pros
definitely a learning experience for someone who is not familiar with recruiting. Very rewarding work when performance pays off, as in all positions.
Cons
Really challenging and can be somewhat discouraging work if you don't keep working at it. There aren't really any guidelines for organizing yourself and your notes.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer jr level employees more hands-on training and leadership. You are offering some great opportunities for growth and professional development, so keep it up!
Pros
Honest
Does not provide fantastic compensation but provides what they say. very consistent.
usually issues are clarified.
No Trust issues
Cons
Only employed till the project lasts.
No long term growth
Pros
Great people who understood the agency business
Cons
Uncertain future for opportunities to work
Pros
Decent pay compared to others in the business
Cons
Benefits can be better than being offered.
Pros
you get your own desk, and fresh water.
Cons
- Management makes vague promises and fails to pull through
- unfair practises in terms of compensation, benefits, treating employees fairly and equally
- management has no clue what they are doing, and have little care for employee retention.
- Feel unvalued, and disrespected by management (office manager and managing director)
- Tries to create an open work environment but frowns upon younger employees having brief conversations with colleagues.
- Old Boys club
- Demands way too much while paying very little.
- Below market salary rate.
- Worst employer ever.
Advice to Senior Management
Managing Directors needs to get their head on straight.
Pros
This agency can get you in front of some good companies. I like the company I'm currently working for.
Cons
They verbalized one rate on the phone, but the rate was lower when I went in to sign paperwork. They said no vacation benefits or holiday pay, but then the web site says there IS pay. What's the story folks?
Advice to Senior Management
Get your story straight. I wouldn't recommend this place to friends or other job seekers. Very frustrating experience. Not impressed.
Pros
Flexible. Good Management. Many different positions available.
Cons
Payroll Issues, Long time to process paperwork, Promotion hard to come by. Contract work
Advice to Senior Management
Get more organized when it comes to payroll and paperwork. Putting things like that off is not a good reputation your company should have.
