    I worked at Modis full-time

    Pros

-You have the opportunity to make a lot of money-the commission plan is one of the best in the industry
-Opportunity to work on a number of different jobs within the technology industry and the ability to truly build and understanding of the IT vertical, if desired.
-If you can succeed at Modis, you can succeed anywhere.
    -Good PTO and solid benefits.

    Cons

-If you don't like to be held accountable for your performance, you will fail miserably. You will see VOIP reports everyday and your numbers every week.
-Modis keeps under performers for too long. You can tell in 9-12 months if someone is going to succeed-don't waste everybody's time and keep people who aren't cutting it around for 18-24 months
-It depends on the office, but training can be improved. You learn to recruit and sell by listening to others and doing. Sitting someone in front of modules for two weeks isn't going to teach them to be successful. Recruiting and sales directors need to do everything in their power to ensure people are given the tools to succeed and mentor them every day...not just when they feel like it. If you know how to recruit or sell, you'll be fine, if you don't the learning curve can be tough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Hire people with grit and are willing to do work. Just because someone is a former college athlete does not mean they will translate to a good RDM or BDM. There are a lot of people who have things come naturally to them that have no clue how to sit down and do the work it takes to be successful.
-There are plenty of people in middle management that are doing as little as possible to get by. That really hurts the RDM's and BDM's that have the potential to be successful but aren't quite there yet.

I have been working at Modis full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours and the people are nice.

    Cons

The salary is WAY below market for Admin, about 10-20k below. There is no upward potential for Admin and a raise is out of the question. There are no special incentives for Admin nor are they included in any contests that go on in the office. Why bother putting 100% effort in when not one person cares or even notices what you do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your Admin more show them you care. They work hard to keep the company flowing and keeping the consultants happy without us keeping them happy and paid on time there would be a lot more people quitting.

I worked at Modis full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    They do have job openings.

    Cons

This was a very good company about 10 years ago when there were many talented, hard working and loyal Managers, BDMs, and RDMs. However, the truth is all the talent left due to various reasons (too many to name to be honest) and the company has struggled ever since. The company is just too big for it's own good and they can't compete with the rest of the industry. I could list many terrible things but that would be pouring salt on an open wound.

    Pros

    - The culture provides a great reference for appreciating future roles after you leave.
    - Wherever you go the grass IS greener!
    - Singular vertical focus allows for specialization and career growth.

    Cons

    - Words of management do not match actions.
    - After being reassured of future growth opportunities they are later taken away without reason.
    - Popularity contest, based on being buddies not performance.
    - Management is fickle.
    - No training & development provided.

    Pros

It has been an IT job for 10 years. Steady work. People I work with are awesome. Recruiters are pretty good.

    Cons

Been there for near 10 years - no PTO - low pay - Have had to fight for literally every 2 cent raise. Pretty much the Walmart of recruiting companies. When I leave I will never work for them again. Nearly everyone I work with has the same story. We joke it is the black hole of IT where careers go to die.

I have been working at Modis as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Fast at paying you for the hours you work. Usually only 1 week lag and weekly payrolls. Also really fast to set up direct deposit

    Cons

You do not learn a lot about the company itself because you are always at the client site, however that really is not a bad thing.
