I have been working at Modis full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

It has been an IT job for 10 years. Steady work. People I work with are awesome. Recruiters are pretty good.

    Cons

Been there for near 10 years - no PTO - low pay - Have had to fight for literally every 2 cent raise. Pretty much the Walmart of recruiting companies. When I leave I will never work for them again. Nearly everyone I work with has the same story. We joke it is the black hole of IT where careers go to die.

I have been working at Modis as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Fast at paying you for the hours you work. Usually only 1 week lag and weekly payrolls. Also really fast to set up direct deposit

    Cons

You do not learn a lot about the company itself because you are always at the client site, however that really is not a bad thing.

I worked at Modis full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I got to online shop a lot and plan what I want for lunch and then maybe workout at lunch. I also was able to look for other jobs in my spare time because I had no work to do.

    Cons

I was not coached or taught what to do, the managing director is awful, there is so much turnover in the Sacramento office I feel bad for anyone and everyone that gets coaxed to work there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop setting your employees up to fail. Pay them more for the long hours they put up with.

I worked at Modis full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Not everyone is cut out to be a recruiter... a lot of these reviews are most likely written by people who did not do the job well. It's easier to blame the company then own up to your own short comings!! Pros: good for gaining industry experience. Flex schedule. Access to tons of huge national clients. No shortage of reqs to work on. No one fights over reqs like they do at other staffing companies because recruiters get assigned their own jobs to work. Competitive commission plan - paid a flat one time high-dollar commission per placement instead of a tiny percentage each month. Fun work environment. Finally getting some younger management who can relate to recruiters.

    Cons

Base is a bit lower than other places in Denver (but commission is better). Location/building kind of sucks. Teams are organized oddly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the base... Move buildings... Quit worrying so much about subs and focus in hires!

    Cons

They work you like a slave

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise the base salary and don't make it seem like it's easy to get hires. Because it's not.
