I worked at Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority

    Pros

Family type environment. Worked with great chefs and professionals in the industry. Worked in many different food outlets. I Was lucky to work with a great team.

    Cons

Down turn in economy forced layoffs. Company got away from their values and didn't stay the course. Senior management made decisions based on profit instead of people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needed to stay the course. Don't get too big to fast because you will loose sight of who you are.

    Pros

$8 a day to spend in cafeteria, employee gym, lots of departments to choose from. Free dealer school for a good paying dealer job.

    Cons

Management does not treat employees well. Company on the decline with increasing competition. Benefits being cut.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should treat employees like we are all in this together, not enemies. This should come from the top.

I have been working at Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great PTO for full time. The people you work with are great. Most of leadership. Difficult few years CEO and MTGA breathing life back into team. Great SR Leadership Team.

    Cons

Still working on weeding out some of the dead weight making transitions difficult. As with most in hospitality industry, lots of hours so work-life balance is a challenge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Slow economy cause anxious people, not quite as responsive to gossip. Should address it head on. Be aware of those who say one thing and behave another. A few are still left.
