I worked at Monogram Systems full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

My managers were great and were interested in making sure I improved and could learn where needed. Training was important. It was a good mix of R&D and production which kept me on my toes as well as having a variety of responsibilities where I didn't have to sit at my desk all day nor was I expected to.

    Cons

The location was not growing as quickly as I would have liked and there wasn't much chance for advancement. There was high turnover on the shop floor, which is to be expected to some extent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help the employees feel more appreciated and help them grow and learn and feel fulfilled.

I worked at Monogram Systems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Spacious cubicles, clean restrooms, decent break rooms. Great starter job/space filler job but if you are a skilled professional you may find that your skill set will deteriorate here.

    Cons

    Low wages for aerospace industry
    Extremely high turnover
Competent, capable employees move on to better opportunities elsewhere
A lot of favoritism and promotions are based on popularity instead of merit
HR is incompetent and plays a major role in the largely dysfunctional workforce.
No clear vision, direction, or corporate structure
No training and antiquated business processes

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The high turnover rate is a clear indicator that you are not attracting and retaining quality talent. Examine your HR team and practices and implement new strategies to fill your ranks with competent, capable workers/management that will benefit the company.

    Top-heavy, arrogant company

    I worked at Monogram Systems

    Pros

Some of the people are nice to work with and the benefits package is pretty good. That's about it, though.

    Cons

Way too many managers and executives, not nearly enough of the people who do the actual work. If given the chance, some people will stab you in the back to benefit their own advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation on the order of 75% to 80% of a fair market rate does not constitute a "competitive" wage. Spend the money to hire and retain more people.

Current Employee - Engineer in Carson, CA

I have been working at Monogram Systems

    Pros

They have a lot of work, with very consistent and steady employment. The benefits are overall very good. Pay is probably slightly below average, but it seems that they are waking up to the fact that if you want good people you do have to pay them competitively. There are lots of old timers which is good in that you can learn from them.

    Cons

There are a lot of hot heads in management. There is not a lot of communication from management to the troops. It feels very old fashioned, as there is not a lot of useful up to date modern technolgy at use.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need much better communication, and need to create more good will among the employees.
