Confused corporate house but for employee positive, career transitioning, slow moving company with mix set of people.

Software Engineer (Former Employee) McLean, VA

ProsIt is positive work environment, and busy enough to let you balance you work and personal life. Enough opportunity to learn and grow personally. Good salary, higher then the market

ConsCan be bit complacent at times. Bit orthodox approach towards remote access to work. Should open up with remote access.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe little more proactive towards the product and let the talented team improve it rather then only thinking about $ to get from client to do those enhancements

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Not a good place to work

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prosi don't have anything to add.

ConsPoor leadership - the culture is “toxic” b/c leadership sets unrealistic goals, micromanages and is non-inclusive with regard to the day to day of running a business..

Advice to Senior Managementdo something useful....

    MGS Means Mediocre

Product Manager (Former Employee) McLean, VA

ProsIt's software and long government contracts mean there's a bit more security than other parts of Monster

ConsNo support from corporate, internal politics prevent organization from progressing. No investment in marketing or innovation. Lack of business best practices--or interest in best practices

Advice to Senior ManagementJust retire instead of coming in between 9 and 5 and pretending to do work.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Telling the truth

    (Former Employee) McLean, VA

ProsSalary is above market. There are good people in the mix and you will certainly learn how to deal with politics designed to keep you from getting your job done if that is a skill that you want to add to your roster.

ConsThe company is riddled with the kind of people that have given politics a bad name. Finding ways to get other people to do your work and basking in the spotlight when corporate calls is the name of the game at MGS.

Advice to Senior ManagementJust give it up already. Cut the lego man haircuts and find a better place to shop than Men's Warehouse.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThere are a lot of very talented workers.

ConsSenior executives do not care about the workers. They are consistently doing what they need to do to earn their bonuses without thinking of the consequences to other teams.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to what your day to day staff has to say. They know what the issues are and they care. Management needs to also care about the company and staff and not just what benefits them.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Not bad not much on direction

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsFlexibility, small teams, casual dress code

ConsLack of direction. No clear vision

Advice to Senior ManagementOpen up for talented folks before they leave
