It's been a great career at Monster.com

Account Manager (Current Employee)
Maynard, MA

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than 5 years

ProsThis place has been great overall. I was able to excel year over year and move into positions that generated more income for me.

ConsManagement has taken a turn for the worse. Moral is down and so is the stock. It appears the ceiling may have been reached.

ProsGood benefits overall and definitely above industry standard.
Excellent severance package depending on how long you worked there.

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than a year

ProsAmazing company. Management in the Tempe office makes the job very fun, and they support you 100%. Great potential to earn a lot of money, uncapped commission.

ConsHolding quota on things that are out of your control (out of business, acquired companies, etc). Responsible for previous year sales plus growth.

Great place back in the day....................

ALL Jobs (Former Employee)
Maynard, MA

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than 10 years

ProsWas a great place back in the day.... Good starting salary... most of lower management are good

Conshorrible upper management, CEO must GO! Internal employees are paid MUCH less than people coming in from external. Don't know what they've lost, until its gone. Let Innovation fly by, didn't jump on that train.

Advice to Senior ManagementAll of you, LEAVE!

Good pay, incompetent senior management team and high risk of layoff

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than 5 years

ProsMonster has very good starting pay compared to other companies but hardly any incremental after that, even after getting highest performance rating many years in a row.

Cons- incompetent senior management team
- no direction and no planning
- 5 lay offs so far in my 6+ years with the company
- more political than actual work

Advice to Senior Managementstop worrying about your own self and start worrying about the company. Stock value is down by 90% and the only solution the sr mgt team can find is another layoff. This 'solution' has already been used many times so far and yet has done nothing to save the stock from the deep dive it takes every quarter after earnings release.

Account Manager

Sales (Former Employee)
Maynard, MA

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than 10 years

ProsThe people are amazing.
There are lots of tenure employees
Winning awards for innovation and technology

ConsIndustry stereotype of being 'just a job board'
Location of Maynard is difficult
Change of Senior Management trickle down is not always the best employee experience

Advice to Senior ManagementDo not lose sight that the people are what makes the company. They are customer facing, they hold the brand, responsible for the diverse and creative ideas. Work on the industry stereotype of being branded as 'just a job board'
