    Pros

Great technology! The technology Monster is developing is goof but they don't know how to sell it. The company is very transactional and cant leverage the technology.

    Cons

Very divisive environment. Management always involved in trying to "take credit" for sales peoples successes and distancing them from failures. Management offers no support. I would NOT recommend joining.

Sales are very low and looking for someone to blame!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit being insecure. Stop hiring people from CareerBuilder. CB'ers are ruining the culture. Hiring people that fail at CB and making them managers at Monster is a recipe for failure

    Pros

Great atmosphere, good people to work with, pay isn't bad

    Cons

Management is distant, unattached, unaware. They have their agenda and they drive to it without considering feedback from the people on the front lines.

Performance is appreciated but not required. If you keep your head down and say the right things, you'll be fine.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management has changed so much, advice won't do much good.

    Pros

Good benefits, good pay, great work/balance very flexible. Very employee focused. Really does promote from within.

    Cons

Lacks good on boarding training. (Trainers are great). Tends to focus on the fluff rather than addressing the issues at hand

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in better on-boarding training. For the most part Monster is pretty good everything. (Something that is very hard to say about a lot of other places)

Former Employee - Regional Sales Manager

    Pros

The people I worked alongside of and the compensation before that was changed.

    Cons

The new upper management is strictly about numbers and does not care to understand the business and more importantly the people that get the job done. The culture at Monster has quickly deteriorated to the point of what can only be described as toxic. If you are looking to be a yes man and sell out others than this is the place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs to read their own core values because as it stands now the only core value they are following is that of the almighty dollar.

    Pros

Some cool people, nice new office

    Cons

Lacking in technology. HR takes WAY too long to do anything. Upper management doesn't act on problems. They do nothing to retain talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees when they bring things forward.

    Pros

Friendly coworkers everyone makes you feel like family. Great work life balance.

    Cons

The pay and management SUCKS! The pay is way less than expected. Monster made so many promises when they came to Florence, SC. They pretend that the pay was awesome and that there would be plenty of bonuses and there is plenty of room for advancement. Well.....WRONG! It was all lies. The pay sucks, they handed out maybe 2 bonuses (that they taxed 60%) in the past 4 years, and it is like pulling teeth trying to advance in the company. Management don't care about anything but numbers. The only reason that people are staying is because there are not many jobs out there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop worrying about numbers and pay attention to the great help that you have.

    Pros

Relaxed environment, tries to provide a casual, constructive atmosphere. There are some really good folks that try to do the right thing.

    Cons

The company retains a vast majority of original long term contributors. While experience is quite useful for the newcomers. This presents a challenge to those trying to take things to the next level. Adoption to change is difficult for folks that were and are responsible for the start of Monster

Current Employee - Software Quality Assurance Engineer in McLean, VA

    Pros

There were 2 rounds for this interview.
I applied through my university career site. Monster selected my resume and called for a phone interview the following week.

The phone interview was partially technical and partially about my previous work experience.
    It lasted for 20 minutes.
After the phone interview, I was selected for a face-to-face interview.
In this round, I met 3 people from the team I was supposed to work with as an intern.
Intially, asked me to answer few questions in a paper which was aptitude based.
After that, the team started asking questions on quality assurance terms and concepts.
There were questions on my previous work experience and my current education.
The interview lasted for 35 - 40 minutes.
The results were out in a week and I was selected for the position.

    Cons

The interview process was very good.

    Pros

good work life balance, we are a team and act like one, great pay for the location, if you bust your butt it is easy to move up in the company.

    Cons

the end of month/end of quarter is always hard in sales, but that is what you should live for. You may put it 10 hour days, but it will pay off.
