Good things happen at this facility.

Utilization Analyst (Former Employee) Yonkers, NY

ProsAt Montefiore I enjoyed working with all types of patients, and everyday was a learning experience. Case Management was my favorite opportunity with Montefiore, but there are many opportunities available within the organization.

ConsManagement takes a big look at numbers, more compassion and empathy should be a part of the work environment.

    Opportunities but stifled by bureaucracy

    Project Manager (Current Employee)

ProsFlexibility (clearly this depends on your direct supervisor)
Very interesting time in health care and Montefiore seems to be a player in the forefront
Lots of tertiary benefits, including great 403b match

    ConsLocations (Bronx, Yonkers, Tarrytown)
    Vast size of the organization
Reliance on consultants more for political reasons than actual expertise and aptitutde

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide more paths to management and learn how to do your own Excel reports.
Reports for the sake of reports doesn't serve anybody well
Protect your team so you can focus on the tasks at hand

    CMO

    Case Management (Former Employee)

ProsGood Training; you can learn case management well.

ConsNeed more cutting edge business approaches. Salaries for LPN so low that they get the dredges in personalities and professionalism.

Advice to Senior ManagementUpdate team with additional business management training for today's staff. Narrow minded dated techniques being used to serve today's demographic. Too many grey areas in decision making. Implementation of teams and ideas excessively slow. You are losing good people to the timidness and lack of professional insight when it comes to appointment and decision making within the CMO.
