I worked at Moody's Analytics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The leadership team is top notch. They are heavily involved in all aspects of the business, and constantly put people first. In addition, the headquarters at 7 World Trade Center is impeccable, the cafeteria is great, work is both challenging and interesting, and people are intelligent and results-oriented.

    Cons

No major complaints. But the company will have to continue to invest in product development as the risk analytics space is getting a little more competitive.

Since, the company has more of a sales-focused, than product-focused, products may seem a little stale. Even though the products meet the overall needs of clients, the software will probably need to be enhanced at some point over the next few years to keep up with ongoing trends. Luckily most clients are large banks...whom we know are slow moving, so there is plenty of time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing by putting people first and continue to think long-term about the business.

    Pros

Agile environment and very innovative. Great depth of experienced leaders and very entrepreneurial environment.

    Cons

Too much reliance on offshore development. Time to market and support is critical for certain product lines and need more onshore leads to support time sensitive issues.

    I worked at Moody's Analytics

    Pros

Decent benefits, if you are in the finance side pretty good opportunities to learn

    Cons

The politics, if you want to succeed in this place, be ready to be a brown noser. The management / HR work hand in hand to make sure their jobs are secure and they hold all the power and control. Projects and work take a back seat to office power play. Really not the place for technical advancement or learning from a Software Engineering perspective. Managers are control freaks. They don't promote open discussions. Blackmailing based on your green card process is also rampant here!! Fear and blackmail are the most commonly used management skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Yea, like they would listen!!

give employee more motivation by providing more chance to get more bonus
