Pros
Moody's highly supports employees to advance their careers. Moody's is very collaborative, team oriented culture.
Cons
Expect to work long hours.
Advice to Senior Management
I think many groups are under staff.
Pros
Structure is very flat, was able to talk to a lot of people from associate analysts up to senior management
Received encouraging messages from management
Horizontal movement is easy
You learn as much as you want, or as little as you want - internship experience is defined by individual candidates, not groups or managers
Cons
Very disorganized HR and programming for interns, may be a function of recruiters being new to their roles
Some people love their jobs there, and others don't --hinders overall productivity in some groups
Receiving feedback depended on group and manager's schedules
Groups are highly separated
Little vertical movement seen for the future, more outside hires come in at higher levels and promotions are hard to get and occur once a year
Advice to Senior Management
Recruit your interns earlier to get a better, more competent class. Also, it's great that interns are able to talk to senior management and leadership, but middle and entry level employees should get that access too.
Pros
Lot's of free time, almost everyone leaves at 5pm, you can take as long as you want rating companies, a really chill place to work if you don't want to be particularly challenged.
Cons
Among entry level positions, not very well paid. Otherwise, great work-life balance, really respectful and nice people, though somewhat dull work (Data-enty)
Advice to Senior Management
I'd rather not tell people how to run their business. Moody's is doing very well, and I'm happy for them.
Pros
Great learning opportunity from very knowledgable people
Cons
Pay is lower than most companies
Pros
There are Good Opportunity at Moody's.
Cons
The pay is not so great at all
Advice to Senior Management
Gi. People ighe lower levels mere respect and more opportunities.
Pros
Moodys is very involved in the community and has a good work life balance. Although resistant to change, at least you know they ways are consistant.
Cons
People do not adhere to policies and procedures. They will recognize, reward and promote only those who the managers like while others that have dedication and high PE ratings year after year will get any recognision or reward.
Advice to Senior Management
Address an issue, make a decision and stick to that decision instead of address the same issue on a case by case basis and the outcome shouldnt depend on who you know or who you like better.
Pros
- Good work life balance
- Most people work only until 5
- Vacation days are easily approved
- Good benefits
Cons
- Horrible pay
- Lacking transparancy as to how promotions are obtained
- Hard to get in contact with managers
Pros
Moody's has excellent work environment with a very reasonable work life balance. There is more co-operation than competitive environment. The company is growing with sufficient scope for moving up. Most of the positions and promotions are filled based on meritocracy, and not based on favoritism.
Cons
Technology and processes are not the most advanced, and there are many areas that are less efficient compared to many other organizations.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on selecting the right people has been very helpful - continue with this, and make sure that there is good and productive environment with sufficient freedom to make critical decisions.
Pros
great way to learn about credit
Cons
limited career advancement; times have changed--too much regulatory requirements
Pros
Good Work/ Life Balance
Alot of responsability early in one's career
Job Security
Higher Base Pay
Nice offices
non-cut-throat environment
Cons
Lower Salaries
Slow promotion schedule
non-merit based bonuses
There was very little education compensation
Alot of people coast while working
plateau in experience level
Advice to Senior Management
Invest more in your employees. we were not incentivized to work harder than our peers due to bulk promotions and non-merit based bonuses.
