Pros
I have been exposed to wide array of industry during my terms in Moore Stephens International. It encouraged independence and competency.
Cons
The job salary is below average compared to other audit firms. The administration system, which is the backbone of the company still has lots to improve.
Advice to Senior Management
Mgmt should encourage feedback from employees and inculcate the sense of belonginess among employees. This in turn will contribute to part of retention rate.
Pros
diverse work experiences, audit areas (IT, business advisory, compliance, etc.)
Cons
limited opportunities for growth if you intend to specialise in a specific audit field
Pros
Moore Stephens is a friendly firm, with an open door policy for all levels of staff. Overtime is paid (preapproved on a job by job basis), which means that longer hours are generally remunerated appropriately. Opportunities for travel with the job are available if desired, and a social committee is in place for intra-firm events and activities.
Cons
As with many firms, communication between HR and management, feeding down to staff, is not always as strong as it could be. Working hours over the busy season (between January and May) are often long.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to improve communication across the firm at all levels to ensure that goal congruence for both staff and partners is maintained.
Pros
Good variety of clients and experience gained from the clients is good. Friendly co-workers.
Cons
Poor career ladder - no appreciation from management for jobs well done and bad performance feedback.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay attention to staff needs and reward appropriately.
Pros
just as everyone else, they offer salaries
Their affiliates from London is of good quality, so they do have some good clients (~5%)
Cons
- The technical ability of the executives are disappointing.
- Big4ers wont find the culture friendly for them
- Scarly advices from technical department
- Unacceptable english, a "fan" of the director instead of a "friend" of director
Advice to Senior Management
Do not rely on your the exam materials notes when you want to check out the accounting treatment of an issue, read the standard. If the English is too difficult for you, then improve your English first.
Pros
The best reasons to work for Moore Stephens is for the experience
Cons
Top management are unapproachable, and do not care about employee turnover.
Advice to Senior Management
To recognize employees as people, and not tools.
