I worked at Moore Stephens International

    Pros

    - For the country I am in, it is a middle size firm so the community is small and there is a huge possibility you get to know everyone, so it is a closely knitted environment
    - A lot of the people are approachable

    Cons

    - May not offer the same personal growth opportunities that a large firm may offer
    - Typical Audit work, it depends on whether you like it

    Pros

I worked at Moore Stephens International full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I worked at MS LLP in Singapore where performance appraisals are semi-annual, which means salary increments and promotions are also that often.

Their portfolio focuses largely on the shipping and offshore industry.

    Cons

They do not have any relationship to the international entity. Resources are not being shared across the border. Methodologies are created on the fly. And rampant discrimination is abound.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are ambitious snakes in the den just waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Just be more vigilant. And please try to establish some kind of a relationship with the HQ. It will do wonders for the Advisory leg.

I have been working at Moore Stephens International

    Pros

    - The quality of the trainees is usually very good. Some very sharp colleagues I have had the pleasure of working with.
     - Good camaraderie.
     - Good Christmas party!

    Cons

    - Senior management: many of them should have been moved on as they have far too much self-interest at the expense of others.
     - rarely any overtime compensation on offer.
     - jobs almost always under-budgeted, usually as a result of poor planning by management.
     - no praise on a job well done.
     - 'dead man's' shoes in respect of promotion.
     - low moral among staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - A strong need to attract a new client base. The 'traditional' client base is suffering as a result of the downturn.
     - Innovative thinking required to keep larger clients from moving to the Big 4.
     - Offer 'real promotions' to staff.
     - Retain your key employees!
     - Don't talk about organic growth if it does not exist!
