Perfect for the summer job

Admissions Team (Former Employee)
Wildwood, NJ

I worked at Moreys' Pier as a contractor for less than a year

Prosclose to the ocean, great people, and overall working atmosphere
job rotation, excellent employee reward system

Conshad to work in any weather conditions, wearing only t-shirt and shorts, when it was unbearably cold - they offered to BUY a hoodie

Great Experience

Operations Intern (Former Employee)
Wildwood, NJ

I worked at Moreys' Pier as an intern for less than a year

ProsGreat experience for leading diverse workforce. This is a good internship for an introduction into leadership. You are given the freedom to develop your own leadership skills and the managers are always there for help.

Conssome days you will be required to do things you didn't sign up for like run a ride all day when short staffed. On these days you will ask yourself, "Am I really pursuing a degree to push this one button all day"

Advice to Senior ManagementTake advantage of interns - some have serious skills that can be focused into special projects that help the company.

Not bad, not good

Game Operator (Former Employee)
Jersey City, NJ

I worked at Moreys' Pier as a contractor for less than a year

ProsGet to know people from all over the world, get to interact with adorable kids and make them happy, sometimes get tips.

Consunfair working hours/schedules, bad communication between the supervisors. its pretty hot and humid. requires working under the sun for some particular games.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain more skilled supervisors. Maybe arrange an employee restaurant for the employees since there are a big amount of the employees and there are not many restaurants near the company.

Prosi would say free rides are a pro but you barely ever get a day off to even enjoy the park

Conseverything! the wages are low and you are treated like a slave! Morey's does not care about their employees one bit, i would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. At first everyone is nice to you but that quickly changes within your first month, and hands down the middle peer is the worst pier to have to work on.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great training program for water park lifeguard, and free admission to the amusement park.

LIfeguard (Former Employee)
Jersey City, NJ

I worked at Moreys' Pier part-time for less than a year

ProsGreat training program for water park lifeguard, and free admission to the amusement park. The working time is not too long for a summer job. The sea is beautiful and the people are great.

ConsWhen the summer job was just started, it was May, and the weather is not warm. However, the training for the lifeguard is in a pre-heated pool, so it was fine, not very chilly.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe accommodation was not very good in the first few weeks, but changed to a better one later.

Stay away, especially if you are a 'work and travel' exchange student

Ride Operator (Former Employee)
Wildwood, NJ

I worked at Moreys' Pier

ProsYou get to go on all the rides for free or to go to the water parks.

ConsThe management treats you like dirt. You are their slave, the pay is little and the work is terrible having to deal not only with bad management but rude costumers as well. Also you don't have time to eat during your lunch break (you have to wait in line to buy your food or they don't have an employee bathroom, so you have to wait in line (so you loose precious time of your lunch break). They do not have a fridge in the break-room area so you can bring your lunch so you are forced to buy all that nasty food they sell there. It gets pretty expensive even with the employee discount they give you.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees with respect and dignity cause they are the ones keeping the park running.
